I think you may have mikeyavilli confused with me. He says he is retired 10 years and loves it. I am the one who has to have a full time job plus social security.

Thank you but neither of our conditions are recoverable, only controllable. The Lord is using us both in our work at our church and in our monetary outreach to foreign missionaries. I also testify here on OPP and other internet places. When the Lord is finished with us, he will call us home. Who could ask for more?

You do have a saintly attitude. Not many have your conviction of faith.
May you then control your afflictions until they are cured. Certainly such courage should be rewarded.
I have never had a specific prayer answered.
I hope that they work this time for you.

It looks like your on your way to joining the ranks of families driven into medical bankruptcy. This is one of many problems that desperately need to be addressed regarding our current medical system.

Not really, we stay afloat but just. We couldn't even afford the co-payment on just one of those medicines. Insurance and other organizations kick in to help us with the unusually high cost of these medications. It's funny for those on OPP that support socialism ( not saying you do) that in the UK where they have this type of healthcare, my wife would die in less than 2 years because they refuse to pay for the medicine. You can look up her disease...it's called Alpha One. It's strictly genetic and once active, IS terminal without the said medications. Her whole family (children, sisters, and brothers) carry it, but she has it active. The cost of the medicine is so high because the disease is so rare.

Thank you. But let me say this...the answer to prayers may not be what we expect. We may not even be able to see the result of answered prayer.
I was out of church and lost my job of 26 years the week my mother died. I started taking breakfast to my father every day and staying with him until noon or so and then go to the library to look for work online. I had decided to pursue security, and try as I might, I couldn't get hired. My father passed the following March and that very week, I got a call from a company that I hadn't even filled out an application for, as they didn't do online that way. I was hired. The district manager is a preacher and to make a long story short, we have attended church with him for 9 years. My dad was a baptist preacher but I have never been as dedicated as I am now. I am far from perfect but I try to involve the Lord in all aspects of my life.
So, keep praying and when you do, know that the Lord will answer, even if you can't see it.

Don't misunderstand... I'm not blaming Trump. We get back all of our income tax, so he had really helped us.
The thing is that my wife has a terminal disease. It's being controlled right now by 2 medicines that cost $23,000 per month. We spend our money at the doctor's office. I have my part in it too, I have stage 4 kidney AND liver disease.
Just wanted to be clear... Trump's the man.

I truly hope you and your wife can recover from your health issues with the hand of God on your shoulder.

I know that my family prayed about a medical crisis. The family member still suffered a great deal and ultimately died. However, most people in the family, particularly her husband and kids, didn’t drown in their grief. Yes, there was, and still is, grieving but it’s not devastating .

You just made an accurate description of Trump. AOC is a junior Congresswoman with only a megaphone. Trump has the bully pulpit. After the impeachment revelations who is more dangerous?

More dangerous to whom ?

I'm sorry your family member suffered a great deal. Probably the husband and kids were relieved to see the suffering end. While you may feel as thought your prayers weren't answered, hat answer may be still in the future. If a farmer prays for rain for his crops and his wife prays for fair weather for her yard sale, which one will God fulfill?
I know it looks unfair but if the family member was a child of God, they have eternity to be young, vibrant, never sick again, and never to face death again. Just don't let your faith falter over this death.

I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear. Our prayers were answered. Just not in a way that some people might think. Sometimes it’s answered in more subtle ways. Far from weakening the faith of our family the experience strengthened it.

Then it was a blessed misunderstanding.

Maxmimus: Don't know if I'm replying to the right person, but I'm very adult, (to say the least) and
I know of no one BUT GOD, who knows IF and WHEN prayers are answered. Been a believing Christian
all of my life and intend to be one until the Lord takes me home. Sometimes God's answers are NO
and for good reason, don't doubt for a minute that HE doesn't hear all prayers and tends to them
in his own way. The world is a better place because of the love of God and his workings in our crazy
mixed up world. If someone says he's never had a prayer answered, I question that person's belief
as He isn't God and only GOD knows the how and why of things. He did know even this man before
he was born in his mother's womb and all Christians thank God this Thanksgiving for the many
blessings and continual love he gives to us all. We may not accept it but it is there. If you question
Creation and how and you were made, you worship someone who is intent on destroying this
beautiful world, no matter how many hateful and deceitful people try to destroy it. I am confident
God in his heavens is sad at the unbelievers in our midst. Blessings to all and may our God bestow
many more blessings on all of his creation this Thanksgiving Season.
