A tortoise not a turtle. My uncle raised one. Once they are in captivity they can no longer defend themselves. They are great pets,but out live the human caretakers.wild fires have decimated the tortoise and are on the endangered species list.
They are only found on a small track of land that includes arz and Utah. But the feds are over stepping it on this one.
