By the way, Trump is the reason ISIS is now defeated or, at the very least, minimized. Obama allowed them to grow and would not allow our army to effectively fight them. We did, under Trump, cooperate with Russia, absolutely. ISIS is their enemy too. Had we not worked with Russia, ISIS would still be fairly strong.

But tell me, what did Obama do to help our "leadership" position in the ME?

About this rating

The video clip was taken from a portion of a talk Biden gave in January 2018 at a Council on Foreign Relations meeting in Washington, D.C., which was held in conjunction with the publication of the January/February issue of Foreign Affairs magazine. Biden had co-authored an article for that month’s issue with former White House official Michael Carpenter, titled “How to Stand Up to the Kremlin: Defending Democracy Against Its Enemies.”

In the excerpted portion of the clip, Biden was discussing his efforts on behalf of the Obama administration to pressure Ukraine into to prosecuting corruption and firing Viktor Shokin, an ineffective prosecutor. That effort by Biden has been used by Trump supporters to argue, inaccurately, that Biden single-handedly had Shokin fired because Shokin was investigating Burisma, a Ukrainian group of energy exploration and production companies of which Biden’s son Hunter was a board member.

However, Shokin was not fired for investigating Burisma, but for his failure to pursue corruption investigations — including investigations connected to Burisma. And Biden wasn’t alone in the effort to push Shokin out, but rather was spearheading the Obama administration’s policy, which represented a consensus among diplomats, officials from various European countries, and the International Monetary Fund that Shokin was an impediment to rooting out corruption in his country, according to Bloomberg:

Moreover, among the reasons the U.S. and others sought Shokin’s ouster was his failure to assist with or pursue an investigation of Burisma Holdings’ owner:

“There was no pressure from anyone from the U.S. to close cases against Zlochevsky,” Kasko said in an interview. “It was shelved by Ukrainian prosecutors in 2014 and through 2015.”

Conclusion
The Obama administration’s strategy, albeit slower than a traditional ground campaign, presents a suitable alternative to the traditional large-scale military operations of the past. Eliminating the substantial military requirements in the Middle East provides the U.S. administration with the opportunity to exercise fiscal reforms, strengthening the American economy.

A reengagement in Iraq would undoubtedly have cost American lives and billions of dollars that would have further strained America’s economy and fed into ISIS’ propaganda and recruiting strategies, which would have fueled further resentment against the west and continued the traditional cycle of violence in the region.

'The strategy hasn't changed at all' — Trump's plan to defeat ISIS is the same as Obama's
Paul Szoldra Jul 6, 2017, 2:45 PM

President Donald Trump's plan to defeat ISIS is essentially the same as his predecessor, President Barack Obama, despite Trump's frequent criticism of the former president's efforts against the terror group.

The president has so far missed two deadlines he set himself for detailing a new ISIS strategy, according to CNN. That delay, according to the Daily Beast, is because the Trump White House has been asking defense officials to pitch new ideas that could differentiate the current strategy from Obama's.

The strategy put in place by the Obama administration, however, seems to be working quite well, McAslan said. Though the overall strategy hasn't changed, McAslan said, what has "changed is the fact that in 2014, ISIS was at the gates of Baghdad, and now they are a desperate enemy about to be defeated in Iraq’s second largest city."

"The strategy hasn’t changed at all throughout," he added, mentioning coalition efforts to train indigenous forces, advise them, and offer precision air strikes, intelligence, and surveillance.

Iraqi security forces have only about 3% left to go before Mosul is fully liberated from ISIS forces. Once Iraq's second-largest city is recaptured, they will move on to other small pockets of terrain still held by ISIS in Iraq, which include cities such as Hawija, Tal Afar, and Al Qaim.

Meanwhile, coalition-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have continued to push further into Raqqa, Syria, the self-proclaimed capital of the Islamic State. The coalition estimates there are approximately 3,000 to 4,000 fighters left to defend that city.

Wow, the re-writing of history in full swing. Interestingly, there are now a lot of articles out there, sot of apologists articles, saying this. And the old links to the original story are just not on google any more. Hmm and scary as well.

Shokin himself was told to back off the Burisma investigations by Ukraine officials. Burisma even had their people contact the Obama State department to have them stop the investigation, mentioning Hunter and another prominent US citizen involved, in their plea. Shortly there after, Joe did the infamous "deal", "threat", what ever you want to call it; that's the part which in the re-writing of history which cannot be denied. And, the video of his bragging about it IS NOT fake. In fact, according to Shokin, The president of Ukraine spoke to him personally that they needed the loans from the US and hoped he would resign with that in mind. Thre are affidavits of that.

Also, did you know that investigators in Ukraine have mad the equivalent of criminal referrals of the Bidens and Burisma to their legal administration?

This is being rewritten by the media but it won't work as long as Trump is president and dictating foreign policy.

I don't have a link but who is that governor who they made a big deal out of him wearing blackface years ago? Then his subordinate was caught in a sex scandal? If you can find it he tells every step of how the abortion goes including the baby is wrapped in blankets while the doctor and mother have a discussion of what to do with IT. I thought that was the most nauseating part of the whole thing.
