Surely you jest. California can't even supply itself with water.

That was a fairly ignorant point of view, the only bills the federal government picks up are paid by funds California pays to the federal government.
Now that's a really ignorant point of view! Funding comes from the General Fund, which we all put into, and if there isn't enough we borrow the rest and add it to the National Debt.
Every one has their own starting point. I look for the facts and evaluate whether or not that changes my mind. For too many on the left, if you don't flip to their side just because they say so you're closed minded. Just as when it comes to compromise, many on the left think that means you abandon your point of view and adopt theirs. Compromise means that you both give a little to get as much of what you want as you can. That is what negotiation is all about. That is the real reason that the Democrats want to get rid of Trump, he won't roll over and let them have their way.
I have a starting point in preparation for the next election. Let's require voter ID, clean up voter rolls and work on getting rid of voter fraud. Both sides should agree that elections should be decided by eligible voters only. Any irregularities should be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
By the time the Looney left get done figuring out which bathroom to use the war will be over. And they're going to also find out that zip ties have a universal fit and are extremely affordable as well. That's conservative thinking.
