Did you suggest this while Barry was POTUS? Cause he used executive privilege for everything he wanted kept out of the public eye. He gave that privilege to Eric Holder for Fast and Furious and hid his own papers behind the same privilege, until congress sued to see the papers and what they got was so redacted that it looked like a book with black pages. Then both Barry and Hillary lied in the faces of the American public about Benghazi saying the attack was due to a video, when the truth is that inaction by Obama AND Hillary killed those people. They knew all along that it was a suicide mission.
Now we have Biden proven to have enacted quid pro quo in the Ukraine to get his son a job with very high pay ( and he had no experience in the filed and couldn't even speak the language).
At this very time, the dems are threatening to impeach Trump over a phone call that everybody that has read it, except the dems, say it is a good phone call...done correctly. A republican got kicked out of a closed door session where testimony was being given...they are leaking just what they want the American people to hear...and the reason they are doing this is...to make Trump look bad close to the election. They have no proof, they have no case, so today, Pelosi says they will NOT open an official inquiry...why? Because they don't have a case.
And you say that you actually believe that Trump's powers as POTUS should be reduced???After the atrocities that Obama made??? There are many, many more to name but respect for others prevents me from writing a book here on OPP.

Succinctly put, but the truth won't even register on that Bolshevik robot.
I agree with you on that. Some amendments might be in order, but as for re writing it I am opposed. I also agree that politicians use it to bash opponents, but then violate it themselves. Right after the war, (that is, the last one that was declared by congress IAW the Constitution) Bill Mauldin had a cartoon that ran in numerous newspapers, about two congressmen, One is standing and the other is sitting at his desk with a copy of the Constitution hanging on the wall. He is saying "Read it? I haven't got time to read it. I'm too busy defending it!"
As for that well regulated militia, I recently completed a history of the Vermont State Guard, on order from it's commander. Most of the "histories" were about 3 pages long and were more recruiting pamphlets than histories. I went to 120 pages. Thanks to Teddy Roosevelt, we no longer have a militia. When he signed the Dick Act in 1903, he changed the National Guard from a state operation that the Feds could use with permission of the state, into a Federal operation that states can use when the Feds don't need them. A Senate commission found, in 1987, that the National Guard of today is not the Militia as envisioned by the Founders. That is why about 20 states have established State Guards. But we got an order about ten years ago that the VT State Guard "must never be armed." However, we got a pistol team into the AG matches last year, of which I was a part, and both pistol and rifle teams this year. I didn't get into it as I had to have a knee joint replaced.

No matter how smart some think the original writers of the constitution were, they had no idea how the country would change since 1788.
For instance, why is the 3rd amendment still part of the bill of rights? It is useless, and will never be used, since the founders had no idea about standing armies and forts.
And why do cons always talk about being originalists in their interpretation of what the founders meant, only up to when they are in power and want to support their policy, such as the horrible, criminal Citizens United for corruption and greed.
And it is time to get rid of all of the nebulous, confusing language about what some thinks that some meant in 1788.

He and his ilk don't want to be free. Scared they can't fend for themselves. Want mommy and daddy government to tell them what to do and how to live from birth, to death.

Yes indeed, and whatever you do, do not say the word WORK to them.

Work is certainly a dirty four letter word to many folks in this age.
