The real president is only interested in investigating corruption when he smells a chance to make a buck for himself or get dirt on a political rival. If he was really interested in investigating corruption he would join those investigating the Trump Crime Family. He discovered running for president gets him a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Who does the "equating"? Biden wasn't a "political opponent" when the investigation started. No one asked for a "donation" for any campaign. The alleged corruption took place in Ukraine, should we have asked Sweden to investigate? Africa? "Equating" is like interpretation: basically an opinion.

Apples and oranges snowbear! The point has little to do with "when" the investigation began -the point is it is illegal to ask, request, or solicit campaign donations from a foreign government. When Trump asked Ukraine to do that in between discussing the $391 million in aide already approved by Congress, Trump violated campaign finance laws. It doesn't even matter that Ukraine's president now says Trump didn't "pressure" him - its the asking. If Trump seriously wanted to 'investigate' corruption in Ukraine (<funny as hell considering all the corruption he's accused of) he should have turned that over to our numerous law enforcement agencies....when have you ever heard of the president "investigating corruption" before now? Have you actually read Trump's asking?
