Democrats are giving their usual spin about how close it was. The truth is the election started out with the Democrat ahead by a wide margin at one point. This was based on two factors. First, many believed the MSM about Republicans having committed voter fraud. Second, the Democrat ran away from the Democrat Party's core principles and tried to present himself as a moderate. As time went on the people learned there was no fraud and that the Republicans had just done what the Democrats did in California and other places. Secondly, they learned what Democrats are. Thirdly, Trump rallied the voters. The end result was a GOP victory larger than the one that was last held and was redone. In all of this no one has mentioned the special election that was held in the NC third Congressional district where the GOP candidate totally buried the Democrat. What do we learn from this? The more people learn what Democrats are the less likely they will vote for them.

Thank you for the information. The media seems to have gone pretty dark on this, which if the results had been the opposite, I am sure we would have seen it all over the place.

Kind of like the Soviets, the Nazis, and Imperial Japan.

That is a lot of misinformation for one post.
It was proven in court that voter fraud was committed in the 9th district. That's why a special election was held.
Your second point is gratuitous....meaningless. NC Democrats do not hide who they are.
Trump did rally the voters...fair point.
The major point is that both districts were drawn specifically to elect Republicans. Both State and Federal courts have ruled them un-Constitutional. SCOTUS washed their hands of the matter and once again the State Supreme Court has ruled the district maps un-Constitutional. The districts are now being re-drawn as per court order. It's no surprise to any NCarolinian that Republicans won both races. Under the old maps they were safe.

N. Caroline is a purple state....Democrats have no need to hide, and with fairer districts in the next election Republicans will find that out.

Fact is that we have a Democratic governor and Supreme Court....state wide elections without districts. More folks voted for Democrats in the last election than Republicans. I've put up the numbers before, but it makes no difference. You'll believe what you want to believe. This vote wasn't the repudiation of Democrats at all.

You would never admit it so there is no point.

As someone who lived in NC not long ago, I can tell you the Governor refusing to cooperate with ICE had a huge impact. The Governor being perceived as a pro-illegal made a lot of people who see those illegals taking jobs re-think some of their Democrat leanings. While the district in question is not part of WNC where I lived, I know from talking to friends in that area that there was a lot of outrage.

So meanwhile, this special election was about the republican actually hiring someone to lose or actually change absentee votes in favor of the republican, before you say or even think this is fake news know that the people involved except for the republican candidate are being charged with election fraud crimes.

The dem should ask for a recount on the general principle that the North Carolina election board is about the crookedest and most poorly managed in the country. My guess is that this would be a state that doesn't have the ability to recount.

Up until a dem won the governor's race the governor had a huge influence in appointing election board members, the GOP stripped the governor of those powers as soon as he was elected, along with hundreds of other appointment powers.

Poor abused North Carolina... and follow up on the little number they did in the house sneaking a veto override through with an absent dem vote.
