President Trump wants to buy Greenland...And he is serious...

No that is the demoRat way. Trump wanted to buy it.
3 great reasons to buy it:
1. we already have an air force base there. Thule and other ports provide greater Naval operations efficiency.
Strategic ownership of land can be a diplomacy toehold for European nations going forward.
The Louisiana Purchase and other acquisitions have proved feasible and historically beneficial.
2. Denmark doesn't want it. They've been filling planes one way out of Greenland for decades. Inuits have record statistics for suicide and alcoholism. Dropping life expectancy.
A thriving new economy of services . hunting , diving , trekking or leading expeditions. New money snd trade routes and cities needing services could change that.
3. Underground oil mineral and gas deposits will become more accessible with climate change
The U.S. would be in a very strategic position to leverage these resources

we pay enough loaning foreign countries money and providing armed forces support.
Why not just buy it?
As if Denmark wouldn't love having USA as a proximate defense ally..

Do we pay a fee to Denmark for our bases in Greenland? If so, how much?

Good question. If it belongs to the Greenlanders, we should be paying THEM the fee.

We have a base there, that is watching for rocket launches from Russia. This early warning capability gives us time to react to an assault on our country. Our radars comb the skies 24/7.
The word on the street is the Dept of Defense wants to build a mobile missile system beneath the ice that cannot be easily detected. It results in a clever way to conceal and prevent the destruction of our missile defense system. We have worked with the Danes for years and many Danish civilians are actively involved in the support of our military operations in that country. I support President Trump in his plan to purchase Greenland.

Uh, because we're already trillions in debt? Because deficit spending is already setting new records? Because we don't need the extra land?
Not Trump's fault he is smarter than every president since Reagan combined.

Oh right, the old rape and pillage scenario.........my bad.
How is it rape and pillage if he offers to buy it and they agree to sell it? No one is raping and pillaging anyone.

As weird as it sounds, this is not the first time Presidents wanted to buy foreign territory..In 1917 United States bought Virgin Islands...So why does it sounds so weird if President Trump wants to do the same with Greenland????....
https://2001-2009.state.gov/r/pa/ho/time/wwi/107293.htmIt doesn't, at least to me it doesn't.
You are so right! Strategically important...

Greenland has come up several times. Harry Trumen considered it. The Louisiana Purchase was just that, a purchase. Also, Alaska was a purchase from Russia.
SOME people make fun of our president before knowing why he does some of these things. It doesn't look so funny when you research and see the other presidents that had this idea.
