Time to get real here. The 2nd amendment should remain but with strict requirements and restrictions.
On who, honest law abiding gun owners? Not going to affect crazy people or criminals is it?[/quote]
First rifle 12 years old, never have thought of shooting anyone.
Would I use a firearm to protect others, loved ones or myself? Hell yes.
It seems most of the shooters give warning signs, and no attention is given.
Many have had multiple home visits by law enforcement and nothing is done.
During BO's administration schools were rewarded not to report troublesome students.
Time to pay attention and get these wackos help, and make sure they never have access to guns.
Psychotic drugs could also cause problems.

I haven't heard anything saying these guys were mentally ill and both had bought their weapons legally and gone through background checks. It might also be time to take a close look and see what's going on in our society that would make people like this think their actions solves anyting. We're living in a society that we don't even talk to each other anymore no matter where we go we got our head stuck in our iPhone doctor's office bus station whatever no longer do we hold conversations or even start conversation with our neighbors or the people around us.
We live in our own little world tied together by Facebook and Twitter.

Does 'Common Sense Gun Safety Legislation' Make Sense As a Response to the El Paso and Dayton Shootings?
Other prominent Democrats, including several presidential contenders, likewise reacted to the attack in El Paso and a mass shooting that killed nine people in Dayton, Ohio, early the following morning by calling for "urgent action" to approve "common sense gun safety legislation."
The elements of that legislation are mostly window dressing that would do little or nothing to prevent attacks like these. The most frequently mentioned policy, "universal background checks," is plainly irrelevant to these particular crimes, since both the El Paso shooter and the Dayton shooter purchased their weapons legally, meaning they did not have disqualifying criminal or psychiatric records. Nor do the vast majority of mass shooters, who either passed background checks or could have. Neither requiring background checks for private transfers nor creating "strong background checks," as President Donald Trump has proposed (perhaps referring to the same policy), would make a difference in such cases.
The focus on such "military-style" rifles is puzzling for a few reasons. In 2017 all rifles combined—only a subset of which would qualify as "assault weapons"— accounted for just 5 percent of gun homicides where the type of firearm was specified, while handguns accounted for 89 percent. Handguns are also the kind of firearm chosen by most mass shooters (whose crimes, it is worth remembering, account for just 1 percent of gun homicides).

It’s impossible to write enough laws to heal the dysfunction in our society. We have been intentionally divided, bribed, and misinformed for the purpose of maintaining power. When we still had the foundation of family, the presence of evil was restrained and, at least the possibility of civil society existed. The people hysterically shrieking for the abolition of the means of self defense have no concern for any interest but their own!!! Take a good look!...............this is Hillary’s “village”, LBJ’s “great society”, and Obama’s “change”.

How about this PR we install metal detectors at the entrance of every Walmart and mall throughout America as well as any establishment of say 10 people or more and see if that cuts down the number of shootings that we have in America.
And you don’t think someone going shopping will not have enough innocent metal (coins etc) about their persons to make false alarms a serious roadblock? You’d need humans manning the entrances too. The extra expense would prove a roadblock to implementation.
It’s our 2nd amendment right granted and given to us by the law of the land. It’s called the constitution!!

Gun control is a false flag issue, the REAL issue is the utter lack of community mental health resources and legislation empowering schools, law enforcement and mental health professionals to intervene BEFORE such tragedies occur.
To answer your question; no, Congress will not do anything substantive.
We need democrat control!!

Yeah. Maybe quit drugging children cuz parents dont want to parent and teachers dont want to have to make the effort to maintain order in the classroom. So much easier to drug the little darlings

Metal Detectors are always manned and the change is put into a plastic container and passed by on the side of the metal detector just like in airports and most police stations.

You have pointed to the common denominator.

There it is!!! Take corporal punishment out of school and have psychology cretins monitor potential problem students who they have drugged.
Lay the board of education to these troubled kids ass and things will change.
The bible (which some people avoid at all costs, including lives) says the rod was made for the fools back.
But these unruly kids know that it's against the law to actually defeat their behavior with force.
Do gooder idiots say "oh don't hurt da baby" and then the baby goes unchecked and not fixed.
Bullies who are known should be either corrected or taken out of society...no matter what it takes.
The bastard who murdered his sister could have been easily stopped.
Truth be told, the signs were there.

Not feasible!!
Last shooter started outside, then entered and continued.
Good people with guns, stop bad people with guns.

Most the time it does not work that way, The shooter usually kills themselves after their carnage.
