But it takes a particularly narcissistic kind of progressive to then try to present the argument that we should ignore 99% of the awesomeness of the Presidents tribute to the greatest country in the world that honored the military, gold star families, and exceptional Americans of all walks and seize upon a 5 second slip.

Let's put this into sharp focus. 73 years old, 91 degrees, so humid it was raining off and on, wearing a suit including body armor, speaking for over an hour, in a high stress environment and you pick out a sentence that brings you mirth.

What an insignificant point to make of such an epic event from such a small mind.

President Trump's speech made me especially proud of those Revolutionary and 1812 soldiers who were able to occupy British airports.

Obama visited 7 phantom states that apparently only he knew about with one more to go to. And he told Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of Russia, that he would have "more flexibility" after the election. Bill Clinton screwed Monica in the Oval office, Hillary landed under sniper fire while a little girl handed her flowers. And you pick apart the fact that Trump made a mistake and said "airport" instead of "seaport"?

Me neither, LTL. I had to watch it as well. I've done some public speaking and in front of a hundred people it's literally unnerving - forget about the huge throng, the bullet proof glass, the hordes of secret service, and the likelihood that there were a number of people there that if they'd had the opportunity, would assault the President. How could he slip up like that?

You got me. All that 'protection' should bolster his confidence and raise his esteem to a point where such a gaffe would be impossible. Autopilot? It had to be on the teleprompter, right? I see someone getting the boot over this...

As for the vast majority of the Americans who watched, a feeling of civic pride was in order, something not felt in a very long time (too long).

I was being sarcastic. He's reading but he's trying to make it seem natural. Not like watching Chuck Schumer's head down, nose just above the text delivery. No way Trump would fire anyone if the mistake was his. If it was actually on the prompter...I don't know.

The Army didn't "occupy" British airports, they killed all the pilots, blew up all the airplanes, burned down the hangars, and stole all the ammo and bombs.

Then covered up all the evidence to make it look like nothing was ever there! Now I get it!

I remember when Reagan kicked Carter's a$$ in 1980 and Reagan had the biggest 4th of July celebration. I was finally proud of being an American again. The feeling with Trump's 4th of July bash is the same as Reagan's 4th. After ovommit torched our country and brought us down to a $hit whole country with no pride, I finally felt proud to be an American. Go President Trump, an American hero!!
