In truth, we "fine Christian Conservatives" are very concerned about the safety of the children no matter where they are--at home, at play, in church, in school or in the womb.
We "fine Christian Conservatives" have continuously sought realistic approaches to improving the safety of our children, we have put forth many proposals, suggestion, ideas, and solutions, all of which seem to hit the solid walls of progressive politics and politically correct policies.
Regarding the killing of children in schools, we "fine Christian Conservatives" fully understand that dealing with the effect rather than the cause is entirely irrational and doomed to fail every time. Put simply, blaming the instrument or device used to kill the children is pure unrealistic nonsense. Banning a particular type of instrument or device can never solve the problem. IOW, banning a semi-auto firearm is no more effective in preventing a school shooting than banning a currette, a spinal syringe or a decapitator will stop abortions.
To put some perspective on this, in 2017, mass shootings took the lives of 461 people, 77 of whom died in school shootings, 43 of them were students.
In 2017, 72,000 people died of Opioid overdose, 4200 (approx) were under age 24.
In addition, medical professionals and health organizations are becoming increasingly alarmed at the rate of birth defects and infant addiction due to Opioids such as codeine, morphine and oxycodone, prescribed for pregnant women. These problems include miscarriages, preterm labor and premature birth, heart defects and spina bifida, fetal growth restriction, gastroschisis, and Neonatal abstinence syndrome (addiction), just to name a few. The number of babies suffering these defects is in the thousands.
For all your babbling about logical fallacies and irrational thinking, your demand for banning semi-auto firearms is about as illogical and irrational as it gets.
