Actually, Nik, the work these Biblical research and archeological organizations do is based on Natural sciences such as Geology, Anthropology, Physics, Chemistry, and they are using state-of-the-art electronics and computer technology in their labs.

FYI: Christian Apologists, such as Ravi Zacharias, John Lennox, Lee Strobel, William Lane Craig, Josh McDowell, C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, Stephen C. Meyer--all of whom have degrees in science--have been cross-examined or questioned by atheists in debates and conferences around the world.

Lee Strobel is the author of A case for Christ which I found to be ludicrous since all the witnesses were Theologians and priests and various religious figures presenting their case from a witness stand but not one cross examination. He is a writer and his education is in law not science. Stephen Meyer is an advocate of Pseudoscience and is not a scientist, Ravi Zacharias education is in religion not science, he says John 14;19 converted him. But the fourth gospel John is the biggest lie. https://youtu.be/AJMd5UiTeys

I find it extremely exasperating when the character of people is addressed instead of the arguments posed! It seems like people are stuck on stupid and don't have any real arguments to debunk a persons position when they start attacking the character and intelligence of the opposition! It is sad that folks devolve to such a point as to completely skirt the issue and slam a persons character instead of the issue at hand!!!

What is the problem with an education in religion or theology? This field of study is just as valid as any others.

You have no grounds other than your own ignorance to say the Gospel of John is a lie.

Nik says, "Whos character is being attacked Blade Runner says those people are scientist And I point out they are not Scientist --how is that attacking their character ???"

John Lennox is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford and an Emeritus Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science at Green Templeton College, Oxford University.

Steven Meyer holds B.S. degrees in physics and earth science and a Ph.D. in history and philosophy of science. He co-founded the Center for Science and Culture (CSC) of the Discovery Institute, and

Francis Collins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1970. He went on to graduate as a Doctor of Philosophy in physical chemistry at Yale University. He is an American physician-geneticist who discovered the genes associated with a number of diseases and led the Human Genome Project. He is director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

President Obama awarded Collins the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The award citation read, in part, “This monumental advance in scientific knowledge has begun to unlock some of the great mysteries of human life and has created the potential to develop treatments and cures for some of the most serious diseases. The United States honors Francis Collins for his efforts to decode human DNA and improve human health.”

What more powerful form of study of mankind could there be than to read our own instruction book?
Francis Collins.

Lee Strobel, a former atheist, earned a journalism degree from University of Missouri and a Master of Studies in Law degree from Yale Law School. He was an invesigative journalist and the legal editor of the Chicago Tribune.

C.S. Lewis received a First in Honour Moderations (Greek and Latin literature) in 1920, a First in Greats (Philosophy and Ancient History) in 1922, and a First in English in 1923. In 1924 he became a philosophy tutor at University College and, in 1925, was elected a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Magdalen College, where he served for 29 years until 1954.

By not addressing what they said! Regardless of their credentials, they have made a point that you have disregarded by debunking them BECAUSE of their lack of your acceptable credentials! You have prejudged them based on a lack of . . . or inadequate credentials! That is an attack on their character . . . and it TOTALLY skirts the subject or point being made by them!!!

That's ridiculous logic They have said a lot I made no mention of what they have said a lot in their various endeavors. The point was made that these were on a list of apologist who had science degrees and my point was they are Christian apologist's and are not scientist nor do they have science degrees. It has nothing to do with their character

I know Steven Meyer is a cofounder Discovery institute and intelligent design which is Pseudoscience. Frances Collins worked on the human genome project and his education is in medicine not science. C S Lewis was another writer and not a scientist. No I don't have a piece of paper that describes an academic achievement from an institution but I have 55 years of self study in history, science, astronomy, cosmology, ecology, paleontology, politics and religion

I see, so you are an autodidact who never learned that the field of medicine is actually science. What sciences does one need to learn to become a medical doctor or physician? How about biology or chemistry or physics or human genetics? Do you think these might be necessary toward becoming an M.D.?

Do you own or take advantage of anything that is not the result of intelligent design?

Well yes a medical doctor must know biology and more so You couls say they gave to know some science but are you saying a medical doctor knows all about climate science. Or cosmology how about ecology I see no reason why a medical doctor should have to study ecology or paleontology How ever it is impressive that Frances Collins helped develop the human genome. I recognize that between 30 and 40 % of scientist believe in a god but I do not find that to be persuasive studies reveal that the most important factors in belief were related to upbringing and family status, and not area of expertise. The fact that social scientists as well as those in the natural sciences expressed nearly the same disbelief in God suggests that rejection of God's existence is not a result of knowledge in any particular area of expertise.

Blade_Runner has already made the point of their credentials . . . you simply have a different definition of scientist . . . which is completely self-serving! Get your semantics in line with the established standards . . . otherwise you make yourself out the fool and afford an image of immaturity!

You're disregarding them as scientist even though their fields of study ARE fields of science! Just because they are Christian apologists does not mean they are ignorant of the scientific procedure of determining fact! But you probably just disregard any of that once you label them as Christian apologist! Get over yourself and have an open mind . . . otherwise you're living in your own little bubble of reality!!!

You might also consider the fact that 85% of the world population believe in a higher being, a supreme being, a creator, God.

Just a quick reminder of logical fallacies, folks:

An Appeal to Authority is a fallacy with the following form:

Person A is (claimed to be) an authority on subject S.
Person A makes claim C about subject S.
Therefore, C is true.
