I think that it is arrogant to think that we are the "only" (semi) intelligent life in the universe. To be honest, I would like to meet an ET. Imagine a fireside chat with an ET.... that would complete my bucket list.
We have been tinkering with hologram for a long time.... it is possible that what was seen was a tinker toy of the dark side. But, I would expect them to run those tests out of Nellis....
With you on we are not all there is.. Sightings do lend credence even if so readily dismissed by our government..

What makes him special? They could use any Liberal for that study.
If an alien ship (or ships)
can come to our planet, fly around a bit and then return to their galaxy
then they have recognized the fact that the ants crawling around on our planet
are not worth foolin with

Lolol, just might be the case...
Wonder if the moon people think that of us???

Now that is food for thought. Would they be considered illegals if they do not cross any boarders but come from another world. Never thought about that. I would venture to say that special consideration would be made if they have no intentions of resettling in the USA....
Yep. So long as they weren't deciding to resettle the planet.......

Absolutely agree. I also think that if they wanted to harm us we'd be done. Unless they're like invasion of the body snatchers and they've snatched the bodies of all the dems

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/26/us/politics/ufo-sightings-navy-pilots.htmlWASHINGTON — The strange objects, one of them like a spinning top moving against the wind, appeared almost daily from the summer of 2014 to March 2015, high in the skies over the East coast. Navy pilots reported to their superiors that the objects had no visible engine or infrared exhaust plumes but that they could reach 30,000 feet and hypersonic speeds.
“These things would be out there all day,” said Lieutenant Ryan Graves, an F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot who has been with the Navy for 10 years and who reported his sightings to the Pentagon and Congress. “Keeping an aircraft in the air requires a significant amount of energy. With the speeds we observed, 12 hours in the air is 11 hours longer than we’d expect.”
The sightings were reported to the Pentagon’s shadowy, little-known Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, which analyzed the radar data, video footage, and accounts provided by senior officers from the Roosevelt. Luis Elizondo, a military intelligence official who ran the program until he resigned in 2017, called the sightings “a striking series of incidents.”

Until there is irrefutable proof that ET is buzzing around us, I am not going to fall for conjecture, speculation, and conspiracy theories regardless of the qualifications of those who see such things.
Astronomically speaking, the nearest star to our Solar System is Alpha Centauri, it is a binary star 4.2 light years away. In August 2016, astronomers discovered a rocky planet orbiting Proxima Centauri, a red dwarf and the companion to Alpha Centauri. The planet is 1.3 times the mass of Earth and has an orbital period of roughly 11.2 Earth days. This system does not provide the necessary elements for habitation.
As scientists have determined, the mass of a physical object approaching the speed of light under its own power increases precipitously. At the speed of light (186,000 mi/sec) its mass becomes infinite, and so does the energy required to move it. For this reason, no physical object can travel as fast or faster than the speed of light.
Yeah, I'm a party pooper.

Who knows what an advanced civilization is capable of? Five hundred years ago possession of a laptop or a flashlight would have gotten you an interview with the Inquisition. Fifty years ago no one had ever heard of a quark.
Our own scientific knowledge is increasing exponentially. Suppose an alien civilization started on this same path a hundred thousand years ago? We can't even imagine what they would be capable of. If you described today to someone living in the year 1900, they would want the name of your bootlegger.

The Universal constants and laws of science apply to the entire universe. Unless there is an extraordinary cosmic event that changes all that, the limitations apply to everything in existence.

The limitations as we understand them today.
