Birth control, education, awareness of consequences... reducing unwanted pregnancies, especially in younger girls is far preferable to abortion. Yet the hardest religious right has a freak out about even birth control.

The hard religious right doesn't want the government paying for birth control, they don't want healthcare companies paying for birth control, they don't want morning after pills taken as a just in case thing even though there is no way to know if a pregnancy occurred.

Texas proved that education and providing condoms to teens prevented as many as 50,000 pregnancies in teens. Multiply effective programs across the country and we're talking hundreds of thousands less abortions or unwanted pregnancies.

Being opposed to abortion is a whole lot different than being opposed to birth control.
Birth control, education, awareness of consequence... (show quote)

I support birth control measures and do believe clinics should have them there for both women and men..

A lot cheaper than an unwanted pregnancy later resulting in abortion.. Or even carrying and then both baby and mother on the dole for government assistant..So many want children, adoption should be the first choice, but those considering abortion do so to eliminate that 9 month cycle.. No drugs, Alcohol, or other boyfriends that will be interested etc..

Look at what is available in trying to educate the younger people about the risks of pregnancy etc...Unfortunately they do not heed the word of advice or education... In the throes of passion all is thrown to the wayside..A vicious circle...

I also support the right of choice, not abortion, especially when used as a birth control device. And with these laws passing in different states regarding infantile genocide I think they should all be hung.!!!

What's wrong with one paying their own way ?

Would you foot the bill for birth control for all the kids at your local college ?

When are kids suppose to learn to take responsibility for their actions ?

I learned that before I left home !

One who ops for throwing away birth control then becomes a greater burden to society.

If making condoms available and or birth control pills available it certainly is a lot less expensive.

These people don’t care that’s the issue they don’t care and abortion frequently used as their birth control is an abomination to life it self...

Educate all you want when passion is involved its to hell with protective measures of both.. The girl gets pregnant, the guy disappears and we carry their burden.. Heck, the states don’t even bother trying to get the father to pay for his moment of passion now his responsibility ..

She makes a cogent point. WOMEN do not need a man to ejaculate in order to fully enjoy sexual pleasure. And a condom does not interfere with it for HER. It is the MAN's insistence that condoms don't feel quite as good as riding bareback that is the ultimate determining decision resulting in the largest number of unwanted pregnancies.

If everyone's little swimmers were suitably contained at the responsible point of origin, we wouldn't need all this discussion.

Did you listen to the youtube post yourself? Did you bother to read what Numbers 5:15 says for yourself?
Here's what it says: 11 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘If any man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him, 13 and a man has intercourse with her and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband and she is undetected, although she has defiled herself, and there is no witness against her and she has not been caught in the act, 14 if a spirit of jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife when she has defiled herself, or if a spirit of jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife when she has not defiled herself, 15 the man shall then bring his wife to the priest, and shall bring as an offering for her one-tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he shall not pour oil on it nor put frankincense on it, for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of memorial, a reminder of iniquity.
16 Then the priest shall bring her near and have her stand before the LORD, 17 and the priest shall take holy water in an earthenware vessel; and he shall take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water. 18 The priest shall then have the woman stand before the LORD and let the hair of the woman’s head go loose, and place the grain offering of memorial in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy, and in the hand of the priest is to be the water of bitterness that brings a curse. 19 The priest shall have her take an oath and shall say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you and if you have not gone astray into uncleanness, being under the authority of your husband, be immune to this water of bitterness that brings a curse; 20 if you, however, have gone astray, being under the authority of your husband, and if you have defiled yourself and a man other than your husband has had intercourse with you” 21 (then the priest shall have the woman swear with the oath of the curse, and the priest shall say to the woman), “the LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people by the LORD’S making your thigh waste away and your abdomen swell; 22 and this water that brings a curse shall go into your stomach, and make your abdomen swell and your thigh waste away.” And the woman shall say, “Amen. Amen.”
23 The priest shall then write these curses on a scroll, and he shall wash them off into the water of bitterness. 24 Then he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that brings a curse, so that the water which brings a curse will go into her and cause bitterness. 25 The priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman’s hand, and he shall wave the grain offering before the LORD and bring it to the altar; 26 and the priest shall take a handful of the grain offering as its memorial offering and offer it up in smoke on the altar, and afterward he shall make the woman drink the water. 27 When he has made her drink the water, then it shall come about, if she has defiled herself and has been unfaithful to her husband, that the water which brings a curse will go into her and cause bitterness, and her abdomen will swell and her thigh will waste away, and the woman will become a curse among her people. 28 But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, she will then be free and conceive children.
29 This is the law of jealousy: when a wife, being under the authority of her husband, goes astray and defiles herself, 30 or when a spirit of jealousy comes over a man and he is jealous of his wife, he shall then make the woman stand before the LORD, and the priest shall apply all this law to her. 31 Moreover, the man will be free from guilt, but that woman shall bear her guilt.’”

I copied this off the internet and it gives a very good interpretation of what the Scripture actually teaches, in clear modern day English: Numbers 5:11-31, describes an unusual procedure, known as the jealousy offering, a husband could use to determine if his wife had been unfaithful to him. Essentially, the husband and wife would come to the priest, the priest would then create a concoction of unpleasant ingredients, and then the wife would have to drink the concoction. If the wife was guilty of adultery, she would get sick and her belly would swell. If the wife was innocent, God would protect her from the effects of the concoction. There was nothing magical about the concoction. It was entirely a matter of God using the result to demonstrate whether a woman was innocent or guilty. So, in summary, Numbers 5:11-31 affirms the truth of Numbers 32:23, "Be sure your sin will find you out."

Some propose that Numbers 5:11-31 refers to God causing an abortion. The 2011 edition of the NIV mistakenly states that the drink will cause miscarriage in Numbers 5:21-22, 27. However, this is not what the passage is talking about. Pregnancy is nowhere mentioned, or even hinted at, in the text. The only thing that even sounds like pregnancy is the guilty wife’s stomach becoming bloated, but even in that instance, it has nothing to do with pregnancy. Further, the passage does not say that drinking the concoction would cause an abortion/miscarriage. While drinking a poisonous mixture of ingredients could very well cause a miscarriage, that is not what this text is speaking of.

If a wife was found guilty, the punishment was death (Leviticus 20:10). If the wife was found innocent, she would be “cleared of guilt” and “able to have children” (Numbers 11:28). So, again, Numbers 5:11-31 does not refer to abortion in any sense. Rather, it is describing a method that God allowed to be used to determine if a wife had committed adultery against her husband.

If a child is born the government pays for its schooling. If the mother is poor the government pays for the prenatal care, birth and medical care after birth. Paying for an abortion is a lot cheaper. Preventing the pregnancy is cheaper still. Best possible use of government money.

Planned Parenthood provides other health services for women in addition to providing birth control. They are a medical provider as are doctors and pharmacists.

This would solve the issues of so many children without fathers, abortion (for the most part) and sexually transmitted diseases and much of the childhood poverty. It would end up with decreased incarceration for the parents as well as their offspring.

Even young ones. To hear almost everyone post here, once passion starts, the horse is out of the barn and if a pregnancy results, then abortion is justified. It's a sad state of affairs.
