There have been times when a missile strike has been called, and ended in too many friendly casualties. Delta forces would have been dropped given sufficient time. But a missile strike, I have to agree that would not be any leader's option. If the object was to incinerate the building and a radius of several blocks.... perhaps, but I also agree that blowing up the building would not be rescuing anyone. People that have never been in the military don't know Jack!

And what would the pilot do once he got there? Blow up the whole building, including Amb Stevens and the others? Do you think the military professionals would send a fighter plane, built and designed for aerial combat, to just fly to Benghazi and...do what?

Congress Has Spent Millions On Benghazi Witch Hunts

The House of Representatives’ never-ending dishonest, partisan hearings on the attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya in 2012 have long since been exposed as a waste of time. Now, thanks to the Pentagon, we know that they have also been a waste of money.

As The Associated Press reported on Tuesday evening, on March 11 the Pentagon sent a letter to Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA), which revealed that Congress’ numerous investigations into the attack have cost millions of dollars and thousands of hours of personnel time.

“The Department has devoted thousands of man-hours to responding to numerous and often repetitive congressional requests regarding Benghazi,” the letter reads. “The total cost of compliance with Benghazi-related congressional requests sent to the Department and other agencies is estimated to be in the millions of dollars.”

The letter goes on to note that “these investigations validate the conclusion of the Accountability Review Board led by Ambassador Pickering and Admiral Mullen,” which revealed that interagency response to the attacks “was timely and appropriate.”

Rep. Smith responded to the letter by writing one of his own, to House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon (R-CA).

“We must stop wasting this committee’s and our military’s scarce resources chasing a scandal that does not exist,” Smith wrote, according to The Hill.

“More than any other committee in Congress, this committee should understand the financial strain on the Department of Defense, which is being made worse by these ongoing and ridiculous investigations,” he added.

Although the numerous hearings have accomplished little (aside from blowing the CIA’s cover in Libya), McKeon appears to have no intention of heeding Smith’s advice. In a statement, his spokesman Cluade Chafin retorted that “it is important that the committee see this oversight effort through to its conclusion.”

Meanwhile, the House Oversight Committee, which led many of the Benghazi inquiries under the leadership of Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), is still busy examining another fake scandal. As Rep. Smith urges an end to the costly Benghazi witch hunt, Congressman Issa is going all-out in his effort to prove illegal IRS political targeting that never actually occurred.

For those of you keeping score at home, those investigations have already cost taxpayers at least $14 million.

Directly because of Obama's actions and deliberate non-actions, our ambassador and other damn fine people were murdered in Libya, we then backed off instead of attacking, and thus allowed the Islamists to take over Libya!

Obama did that on purpose the same way he shoved the Muslim Brotherhood down the throats of the Egyptian people, who then had to have almost a civil war to take their freedom back again.

Now you think we should just "move on" because this has cost $14 million so far? Hell, man, don't you keep track? That's only about a third of the cost of a 5-day Obama family vacation.

Obama lied about this debacle, Hillary lied, Rice lied, EVERYBODY LIED but you think we should just let it go and move on? I don't care if it costs $$BILLIONS$$$ to get to the real truth here.

You asked me for a timeline but yet you chose to ignore the many warnings that I provided for you. Wasting more time with you wouldn't be a wise decision on my behalf. Feel free to believe whatever you like.

The Senate is controlled by the DEMOCRATS. There is no "intelligence" in Democrap reports. If they wrote it you can count on it being a pack of lies.

Why does the Warren Commission come to mind?

You know, too many people play far too many video games. A surgical strike with unmanned drones or planes or tanks or whatever, outside of black opps could not have saved these people's lives. Even with three hours advance warning, there would be only one way and I am not sure by looking at the compound that even helicopters could have evacuated the compound. After the building was breached, and without being cold, it was too late. It is tragic that these people died.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. That's not the issue here. The issue is that NO ONE EVEN TRIED and General Ham, two other generals and an admiral were either fired or demoted for attempting to come to the aid of our embassy. The issue here now is not what might have helped or not helped, it's why help was denied, why those who wanted to help were all told to stand down and why those who tried to help were punished. That's the issue.

The issue is why our embassy was set up for this attack, why repeated requests for backup and more security were refused, why most of the security detail that had been there was removed prior to the attack, why everyone in the White House very obviously lied about the attack, why they all tried to blame it on some obscure video, why they continued to deny that it was a terrorist attack even when the Libyan government said that it was. Why the attackers knew the location of the safe house. Who told them?

Thank you for clearing up the intent. So, in hindsight what could have been done is the issue. I will have to go through the entire event to evaluate alternative actions. Thank you again.

The sad thing about Benghazi is the fact that the one person who is ultimately responsible for the actions that would have prevented this tragedy has declared it to be a " phony scandal ". And the author of this topic has used these very words in an attempt to get us to " move on already ". Would he say these things if it were members of his own family that were viciously murdered ?

Obama could care less about his or anybody else's family. He is a narcissistic SOB and should be shot on live TV in front of a firing squad.

Few people know the real story of what happened there. They have tried to keep this off the internet but they have been unsuccessful.
"Dee Dee Myers, White House Press Secretary during the first two years of the Clinton administration, wanted to share the truth of what happened over in Libya to our Ambassador Stevens and the other 3 who died on 9/11-12/13.

"Here is my story".

A week out, the Embassy in Tripoli began receiving multiple tips about an Al Queda cell in the area planning an attack on 9/11 in response to the killing of Bin Laden. For the next several days, the State Dept and White House were asked for a security force and were denied at least six times. Ambassador Stevens and his team were given the all clear that The Consulate in Benghazi was safe and there was no need for a security force other than his 3 personal guards (One being my cousin) and a few Libyans who were not armed.

Then the attack and murders occurred. Immediately the WH claimed it was a protest gone bad over a You Tube video. Obama made a quick speech in the Rose Garden Sept.12 before catching a plane to Vegas to campaign. He made a generic statement at the end of his speech after placing the blame on an overheated protest over the video. He said "No act of terror will shake the resolve of America."

Later and over the next 2 days, the media said Ambassador Stevens and the other 3 men died of smoke inhalation. This was not the case. Out of respect for my cousin, I'm not going to be specific about his murder.

However Ambassador Stevens was brutally murdered. His genitals were cut off, he was sodomized and beaten and cut and stabbed and burned. He was dragged thru the streets and left for dead. This is eyewitness testimony of a local Dr. who found the Ambassador in a ditch and tried to save his life. He had no idea who he was. The other 3 men, including my cousin, met similar fates.

Death due to smoke inhalation is a 100% fabricated LIE. The next week I drove my aunt and uncle and 2 others to DC to receive his body. We met with Hillary, whom I remain friends with, Panetta, and Susan Rice. All apologized saying it was a protest gone bad over a video and exited the area. Next Obama entered with the same story and made no apology and offered little sympathy.

My aunt cried and all he did was hand her flowers and walk away. I tried to get his attention, but failed. Then a secret service agent I knew from my years in the White House, led me to a room where I was held till the proceedings were over.

Most have not a clue about this man and yet we support him. These murders and the fast and furious cover ups make Watergate look like, a kid who told his bff's secret to the class.

The leadership of our country has reduced to lies and deception.......what has happened to us ? How I long for President Clinton."

I don't know where this information was obtained, but if true then why hasn't the committee that is investigating the Benghazi affair called this lady to testify? Are they afraid of Obama's power? I hate Obama but I have doubts about the authenticity of this for that very reason.
