I'm glad that you stated that statistics can be manipulated to show just about whatever the statistician wants. That's why when woodguru challenged me as to whether or not I saw it, I had to search to find it, and in doing so, found 4? 399% reports on the first page. At the same time, I saw several ( didn't count) reports that said more or less that Trumps economic policies are just not working, and the ones that say it IS working say that the credit belongs to Obama. If they say the job growth is good, then Trump gets no credit for it, and if the job market is bad, then Trump gets all the credit for it. Then there is the other side of the "news" that sing the praises of Trump.
To me, by your figures, the 399% manufacturing job growth is true. I had a friend who just gave up trying to get a job and somehow, he got disability. So, I know that it's true that many people just gave up on finding a job under Obama. Doesn't matter whether or not I like Obama, the statement is true. I haven't heard of that mindset in all of Trump's administration, and again, whether or not I like him, that statement is true in my own experience. Does that mean that people who couldn't get a job are getting a job under Trump? To me, it would seem so. Some say that manufacturing jobs don't pay that well, but, as I've been there myself, if you don't have a job, shoveling dookie in a horse barn for $7.50 per hour will put beans on the table and the worker is glad to be working....again.
Myself, I believe that manufacturing is every bit as important as, say...lawyers, doctors, CEO's, or anyone who makes a lot of money not working. ( Yes...I know they spent a lot of money for the education thing) But what does a lawyer need to be a lawyer? A collage for one, meaning construction jobs, a car, meaning manufacturing jobs, a house, a TV, cell phones, schools for the children, cafeteria workers to feed those children, and a myriad of others things that have to be built, made, or performed. The same is true for all upper class high dollar employees. Someone has to all these thing for them so why shouldn't Americans fulfill that need? Even flipping burgers at Hardee's looks good to someone that has no income.
My long winded point is this; jobs are jobs and if Trump saw a 399% increase over the record of a previous administration, then I say stand up and give him the praise he deserves. I promise you that anyone who now has a job that didn't before will gladly join me. If Trump is only doing as well as Obama, then whats the problem with Trump because Obama was loved, and if their performance is the same, why is it really good for Obama but really bad for Trump?
I'm glad that you stated that statistics can be ma... (

I like some of your points.. the chain of needs to become a lawyer is very good and so often overlooked..
Yes, if you have none, any job is great..
Obama had to deal with an economy in collapse.. even in other parts of the world.. he did a good job. Maybe it could of been done better, but no one else in the world matched his results. slow;yes but results were consistent and positive and better then any other efforts.
trump got a working/recovered economy which he has kept going in the same direction. even his negative policies have not yet done more than cause tremors in the economy. So by doing nothing of value, that shows he is without doubt riding on President Obama work..
If you want to find credit for trump... the GM shutdown in process will have near 15,000 jobs lost..
His personal talks with the CEO of GM have resulted in increased work in a Michigan plant and 400 jobs created at that plant..
So, think that would not have happened without trump talking? I have no idea, so that would be a high water mark for the current white house occupant..
