Happy birthday, highlander!!! And many, many more with strength and stamina

Why, thank you! I feel good. I am healthy and happily single and things are finally going well. Now, if we could just get Michigan or Wisconsin to take Chicago, that would be a nice birthday present for me. Heh.

Two years ago, at a town egg hunt, they gave a five second start to seniors over the younguns. I was a track star in HS. I seriously thought I had an unfair advantage. Just twenty yards with a five second head start? I did the 100 yard dash (almost sixty years ago) in 9.9. When the young'uns blew passed me before I was close, reality bitch slapped me. Talk about being deluded.

So true, we never are. Ageless, in my brain. Mirrors lie, obviously.

I see the aging in my wife of 62 years once in a while when I focus closely, and the shock sends me to the mirror, and yes, there it is for me too!

We seem to have quite a few old geezers here in OPP! I wish them all health and longevity!

Hm. Well, I just turned 53 today and I powerlifted in college and worked in a steelyard for awhile after that. While I don’t have the stamina I used to have, I still have most of my strength and I still weigh about 240. I guess if someone got froggy with me they might whup me or they might not, but if they did they’d have to work for it. My father is 78 and still runs a couple miles a day and does a weightlifting program and still handles the chores on the farm so I expect to be ok for awhile genetically.
Hm. Well, I just turned 53 today and I powerlifted... (show quote)

Oh, to be fifty-three again. You're still a baby.

You must be a fellow Illinoisan. A few of us on this forum are Illinois residents. And not too far from Chicago either. However, I may have jumped to the conclusion, because of your comment, you're from the Chicago area. Still, I should have realized, folks with that attitude about Chicago and Cook County usually reside elsewhere in the state. I'm glad to learn of other Illinoisan on this forum. Taking a poll: All Illinois residents who happen to see this, please respond.

Well, I'll be. That makes four Illinois residents that I now know of.

I considering almost all women to be 29 and holding, no matter how old they are. Gals on the other hand I believe are concerned with security, affection, loyalty and on occasion a compliment. I am enamored by women. Mike

reality sucks when you least expect it. when I was in high school my best grade was gym, track and gymnastics now lucky to bend over without falling on my face because doing it fast makes me dizzy. So I think we all are right there with you in the bitch slap section

I’m from the south side of Chicago, if you consider 275 miles south west the south side... I’m not far from Galesburg and work in Peoria. My family moved here in 1855 and still have the same farm so I’m kind of stuck here. Oh well. I have plenty of popcorn to eat as I sit back and watch Illinois inevitable slide into bankruptcy as the corruption in what passes for a government here continues to flourish like a crop of ragweed. At least Illinois can serve as a bad example. There’s good deer hunting and good fishing where I live so I’m set whatever happens I guess.
