I just found out recently through a DNA test that I have DNA from Mali --Ghana--- Ivory Coast--Benin and Togo. There are prejudiced people in my family and now I can tell them "How bad do you hate yourself" .

HA HA... That would be great.. for me, I have always been told that all grandparents came from Norway so I am all Norsk..

But you never know.. some relative did a hard copy search of our line, interesting found some interesting people, but no one has done the DNA test..

would be fun to say set them back by being part Samoan or something..

In hard copy research a relative of mine found that one branch of our family had been German Slaves. The Captain of a Dutch ship sold his passengers as slave in London. So much for all of the slaves coming from Africa. Our DNA says I have Norwegian so Thor be with you.

The line about Brown was a slip up, part of a note to someone else not on opp..

The book is a dull concoction of the final answer to creation vs evolution..

more then that, the answer to where we come from and where we are going..

May get some upset.. but it is fiction of course and not very good..

maybe the story could have worked in a short version, but the book is 500 pages or so..

dull,,,, do not recommend it for any fun reading..

Sounds like a typical Dan Brown book... Pass...

What tyoe of fiction do you usually indulge in?

most of the time, thrillers as they are called no.. but SF a bit, even in my old age..

Fav writer is John Sandford.. most of his books are local and I am very familiar with the locations. even a book placed in far NW Minnesota was familiar to me.. Thief River.. was the big town when I was a kid and the focus of his story, descriptions are always of real places, and when I know them it adds a bit of fun..

Also like Preston and Child books, the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, no relation to the other Child.

Most any of the popular writers, like to find an obscure now and then..

C.J. Box is good.. I read a lot.. so not fussy, dig up Minnesota writers for the heck of it, couple are quite good.

Historical stuff can be a good read, both real and fiction..

How about you, any favorites?

I enjoy sci-fi... Peter Hamilton is currently my favorite... Fantasy as well... Larry Niven is good for both... Every Now and Then a historical romance...Eloisa James is decent... Also a Stephen King fan... Although his stuff is touch and go...

It's difficult to buy English books over here... Occasionally I'll read the Chinese translation... But I usually stock up on trips back home... My carry on is pure book... The stewardesses give me the most aweful looks
