How many of the rich bastards ever served in the military none.
Another way to look at it is I'm in the 27% tax bracket why should a billionaire be in a lower bracket

They shouldn't have to pay a lower percentage. That's not right either.

The money that would come from taxing the rich at 70% won't flow down to us. It sounds good to people who think they're going to get free money.

So, Kevvy, I assume you support taking money from those who had the brains to succeed (something you wouldn't know anything about I suppose) and make a lot of money with THEIR business ideals and efforts just to make the brainless poverty stricken left feel better...??

As far as Georgie Soros, the Rothschilds, and so on, ya, tax the hell outta them. They made their money shorting markets, enslaving billions of people through false ideals and fiat currencies, so, ya, tax THEM..

Those who worked hard, had fair practices, sound business models and ideals, HANDS OFF..!! They earned their money...

Hey, I've got a suggestion for ya Kevvy,,,,,..... why don' t you get out of mom and dad's basement, come up with a sound business model and strategy, earn millions$$$, and then have one of you brain dead left come along and want to take 70% of your money... See how it feels...???

Oooops. Forgot Kevvy….. you only know how to post minuta on OPP... Ya... Got it... Sorry man....

I am quite successful financially. Although not a billionaire I have owned several businesses and employed numerous people throughout my adult life. I believe income from investment, gambling and interest should be taxed at a rate higher than that actually earned through labor. People who through luck, inheritance ingenuity or a combination of the three become extremely wealthy should pay more in taxes. Most Americans feel the same way. There is a myth in this nation amongst the right wing nutters that the wealthy got that way by brilliance hard work and ingenuity and while this is true in some instances much of the money the uberwealthy come by is not “earned” in any way benefiting society rather it is obtained by gaming the system. Hostile take overs of profitable business stripping the assets and collapsing the organization. Programmed electronic security trading that gives the uberwealthy a huge advantage over the rest of us. Payday lending and rent to own that fleeces the poor while skirting usury laws. Unaccredited trade schools and colleges that put people into inescapable debt providing them useless certificates. I say tax things like this dry.

Translation - you have nothing.

Taxing the rich more won't help the poor. It never does. The rich will continue to protect their wealth and find new ways to do it.

Right Marv. I want to be at the top of the list of people who receive any excess (Up to 10 million of course). It is only fair since I have never had ten million of anything in my life.

Just so you know the wealthy do pay much more in Federal tax’s. Half the country pays no Federal tax’s. How’s that fair? Are you really surprised that a majority of people want more? Gee, who doesn’t want free things paid for by someone else?

More Kevyn nonsense. If we increased the top rates to 70% our economy would go all to hell. The reason the economy is at such a torrid pace is because Trump has done just the opposite, by lowering taxes.

OK, Bob. Have you been reading the news the past week? The news out of New York, Democrat backed, says that babies could be killed even after they are born. Seems to me to be about the same. What do you think?

Kevy has no idea that the effective tax rate back when 70% was used is not much different than today’s tax rate. Lot more deductions then. I guess his masters didn’t tell him that.

The old right is toast The Republican party has been taken over by the crazy right wingers and the young people aren't buying it they know the American dream is just a dream because you have to be asleep to believe it and they aren't in it. They haven't been subjected to the demonizing of socialism like older generations have been following WW-ll. Capitalism is failing them and AOC has a message that speaks their language

That's not true jealousy has nothing to do with it. Its about fairness and the nations wealth shared more broadly and not re distribution from the bottom to the top

The Estate tax was instituted because of the gilded of the late 19th early 20th century and the massive wealth accumulating among a few families. Being the worlds leading democracy, European dynastic wealth was improper and the idea of inheriting vast wealth while the majority of the population were wage slaves living from hand to mouth. The wealthy in the US has been chipping away at the tax while the nations is over 20 trillion in debt--it is ridiculous
