I need time to research France. I wish to explore Medicare because that was your first premise. Medicare for all has one major problem, which can easily be projected from Medicare today. Medicare for all will bankrupt Medicare for Seniors. Medicare was enacted in 1965 because Seniors could not afford health insurance. Their group is too expensive to insure. Medicare works by having everyone pay in during their younger years for coverage during their old age. I have paid into Medicare for 43 years. One day maybe I will be on it for perhaps 25 years. It could not afford to have me on my entire life.

Or to put it another way. Younger people subsidize the old. If the young draw out at the same time as the old, while putting in the same amount they are now the system quickly collapses. As it is the system is projected to collapse in 2026.

Of course your answer is just to raise taxes. As if that has no negative consequences.

I got a little carried away on my rant against all judges. I have actually dealt with some local judges who were pretty good. I fought a traffic citation and lost, but I don't hold it against the judge. I had to testify before a judge when I went for guardianship for my Mother and I had to get a judgement against a roofer who took money and never showed up.

Judges are a special breed for sure..

Knew one that conducted his cases while sitting in his robe with a crisp ironed white shirt and tie and his boxer shorts because he said the courthouse was exceptionally warm all the time...likewise arguments in chambers, the same way... If not told that about him you would have never known.. Always proper and always discreet about it..

Another would show up for an attorney friend I have known for 18 years, annual Halloween party, living next door to Greg, as Baby Huey, carrying a huge baby bottle filled with scotch and ice....his costume, a huge baby diaper and sandals...He was crazy as they come..
