This Wall buisness is hitting home here in Coos Bay. We are on the coast and we do have Coast Guardsmen here. We just started crab season and last week three fishermen drowned. The Coast Guard is vital to our community and they are not being paid. Our community has started up food drives to help these brave souls. They need to eat they need paper towels and their babies need diapers. What about gas to get to work. This has got to end soon before we have no one to patrol our seas and rescue fishermen from sinking boats.

Premise A: The immigrants from Europe were fleeing persecution/ seeking economic opportunity/ were brought by their parents.... The American Indian's efforts to prevent being 'invaded' were immoral and unjust...
Premise B: The original settlers were invaders and cruelly conquered the native people... In which case Americans should absolutely resist invasion from outside forces...
I don't believe in collective guilt... The natives were essential to the development and creation of all of the New World countries...
Atrocities, both real and perceived, were a part of history and not particular to any one group... As Buffalo so directly pointed out...
I am not sure where your statement originated from...
Premise A: The immigrants from Europe were fleeing... (

Progress isn’t necesarily progress especially when considering progressives in their idea of progress..

Progress for its own sake seems more harmful than beneficial...
Never in history (human history, at least
) have so many radical changes been introduced so rapidly....
It seems that each year our world (global society) has a new technology/ ideology thrust upon it...
As a child I was told that even minor changes to an ecosystem can have far ranging consequences...
Or perhaps I am just an iconoclast...

Come now friend Bob who is bad...
'Advancements' in certain areas (technology/social ideologies/ educational methodologies) doesn't always have the desired outcome...
Hence 'Progress isn't necessarily progress'...
Many of the policies advocated by certain elements of our respected societies are (personal opinion) more the result of change for changes sake; a reflexive rebuttal of (perceived) collective guilt and/or injustices by a population that is genuinely disillusioned with the ideals of our respective societies...
Hence 'considering progressives in their idea of progress'...
Or at least I hope that my interpretation of LindaJoy's post is of that vein...
