-Jeff Weise, age 16, had been prescribed 60 mg/day of Prozac (three times the average starting dose for adults!) when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather's girlfriend and many fellow students at Red Lake, Minnesota. He then shot himself. 10 dead, 12 wounded.

-Cory Baadsgaard, age 16, Wahluke (Washington state) High School, was on Paxil (which caused him to have hallucinations) when he took a rifle to his high school and held 23 classmates hostage. He has no memory of the event.

-Mathew Miller, age 13, hung himself in his bedroom closet after taking Zoloft for 6 days.

-Kip Kinkel, age 15, (on Prozac and Ritalin) shot his parents while they slept then went to school and opened fire killing 2 classmates and injuring 22 shortly after beginning Prozac treatment.

-Luke Woodham, age 16 (Prozac) killed his mother and then killed two students, wounding six others.

-A boy in Pocatello, ID (Zoloft) in 1998 had a Zoloft-induced seizure that caused an armed stand-off at his school.

-Michael Carneal (Ritalin), age 14, opened fire on students at a high school prayer meeting in West Paducah, Kentucky. Three teenagers were killed, five others were wounded.

-A young man in Huntsville, Alabama (Ritalin) went psychotic chopping up his parents with an ax and also killing one sibling and almost murdering another.

The evidence is overwhelming, that the side effects of these drugs are far worse then the symptoms they are designed to mask.

My youngest son has ADHD that was diagnosed when he was around 10 years old. After a fairly long disagreement between my wife and I we decided we loved him just the way he was, I had no desire to change him he was an amazing young man.

We worked with him daily for several years finding ways to assist him to focus and accomplish specific goals. But by about the time he got to high school she convinced me that he needed more so we put him on redlin. We took an out going social make friends with everyone child and turned him into a lathargic introvert who fell away from everything. Over time we played with different doses and find a reasonable happy medium but he was never the same while on it.

After a couple of years we took him off of the meds and got our son back. I praise him every chance I get when he accomplishes something, stays on task or even keeps a job for more than a couple of months. I know that people who have ADHD brains run at a completely different level than the rest of ours. This is not a bad thing, with patience, practice and a determination to succeed they can accomplish amazing things far beyond the average human being.

OPP is only one of a bout a dozen things I use through out the day because my brain doesn't allow me only to do one or two things at a time but must be running on atleast three or four things at once. People have told me I should write books on multi tasking.

No just take everyone off of the drugs and let them be themselves.

As a final note doctors and pharm companies will ultimately cause a pandemic because we will eventually create super bugs that nothing they can cook up in their labs will be able to stop.

I don't think ADHD will go away. The disease does exist but too many doctors prescribe for it when the real problem is discipline (or lack thereof). One of my sons DOES have ADHD and when he was young, he simply could not concentrate for more than a few seconds at a time. We used many devices (such as kitchen timers set every minute to bring him back to task), and were able to avoid the drugs.
The biggest problem with drugs and big pharma is that the consumer doesn't bother to find out what they are being prescribed and most want instant relief and don't care what they do to get it.

I remember reading a book in high school. Brave New World, where all the people were on a drug called Soma. It kept the masses in check.

Today most adults in this country are on some form of anti-depressants. Reminds me of the Rolling Stones song "Mother's Little Helper".

People are drugging their children with no thought to the long term effects. How exactly does speed calm you down?
Perhaps, it is just easier to drug a child than to parent one.

I never allowed my children to eat GM food or drink chemically treated water. No way I would drug them.

This is about as bad as it gets. Everyone is brainwashed into believing ADHD is real when in fact, it is just another money making scam. Even if it were real, the number of kids on drugs is way to high. Most of them are on these drugs simply because parents don't bother to check into anything. Psychiatry itself is a scam. They don't know a darn thing. All they can do is listen and put you on drugs, but while they can tell you what is wrong with you by naming your problems, they can't really do a thing to cure them. Even a doctor will tell you that while they are not 100% with the cures, they can at least cure a lot of ills. Psychiatry on the other hand cures NOTING. 100% flat NOTHING. All they know how to do is put you on drugs for which they normally get a kickback.

“ADHD is a prime example of a fictitious disease.”

"These were the words of Leon Eisenberg, the “scientific father of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder),” in his last interview before his death.

Leon Eisenberg made a luxurious living off of his “fictitious disease,” thanks to pharmaceutical sales. Coincidentally, he received the “Ruane Prize for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research. He has been a leader in child psychiatry for more than 40 years through his work in pharmacological trials, research, teaching, and social policy and for his theories of autism and social medicine,” according to Psychiatric News.

Yes, it was even admitted that they are his THEORIES. The medical industry is using the guise of helping children to depersonalize and disconnect our children from a healthy, normal upbringing. Parents are placing their children on these drugs and subjecting them to what the world has to offer, when in fact all these children are looking for is their parents in hopes of being the blessing that God intended them to be.

In the United States, 1 out of 10 boys among 10-year-olds takes medication for ADHD on a daily basis … with increasing tendency. And with the help of Teen Screen surveys in public schools, they are attempting to set up the student for the fall.

American psychologist Lisa Cosgrove and others reveal the facts in their study “Financial Ties between DSM-IV Panel Members and the Pharmaceutical Industry.” They found that “Of the 170 DSM panel members 95 (56 percent) had one or more financial associations with companies in the pharmaceutical industry. One hundred percent of the members of the panels on ‘Mood Disorders’ and ‘Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders’ had financial ties to drug companies.”

And they are reaping major benefits off of this “fictitious disease.” For example, the assistant director of the Pediatric Psychopharmacology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital and associate professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School received “$1 million in earnings from drug companies between 2000 and 2007.”

Marc-André Gagnon and Joel Lexchin, a long-time researcher of pharmaceutical promotion, performed a study which shows that the U.S. pharmaceutical industry spent 24.4 percent of the sales dollar on promotion, versus 13.4 percent for research and development in 2004. That is almost twice as much money on pushing their drugs on the people than research to make sure it is safe!

This raises the following question: Are they safe?

Read the antidepressant black-box warning for yourselves, and you will be alarmed by the side effects listed on the inserts:

• Confusion
• Depersonalization
• Hostility
• Hallucinations
• Manic reactions
• Suicidal ideation
• Loss of consciousness
• Delusions
• Feeling drunk
• Alcohol abuse
• Homicidal ideation

Why would any parent subject their children to drugs with such dangerous side effects?

Dr. Edward C. Hamlyn, a founding member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, in 1998 stated, “ADHD is fraud intended to justify starting children on a life of drug addiction.”

The “attention deficit” lies in the responsibility of the parents, not the child. Scripture tells us that the parent is to “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6),” not the other way around.

To take it a step further, the video below explores what is being overlooked – namely, the alarming studies linking antidepressants to mass murder:

Think the Zimmerman set-up was bad? You should see what MSNBC and Rachel Maddow did to Bradlee Dean."
This is about as bad as it gets. Everyone is brain... (show quote)

I'm confused. What do antidepressants have to do with ADHD? ADHD patients take a stimulant, not an antidepressant?

On the other hand, my mother had a schizophrenic episode so badly she accused my father of poisoning her and pulled a knife. He had to move out of the house and force her into a medical facility against her will. The psychiatric medication was the only thing that saved their marriage, and I finally have a mother I can actually talk to.

Right! Use the drugs when there is imminent danger of violent behavior. They are not appropriate for ADHD.

And in all cases the liberals want to blame the gun or in some of these cases they would have to blame the ax, knife, sledge hammer, rope or some other means of exterminating life. Why can't they logically look at the evidence and determine it is the medication that brought about the killings and not the inanimate objects that they so like to point at.

Needless to say I had hallucinations and thought the phone was a snake, my Father had to physical restrain me.
