For some people the choice does not seem to be there when they are constantly reminded of injustice and constantly dissapointed and mistreated by those who choose to hate. I was in hopes that you were not like so many. I was wrong. Okay, this is what you want to hear. You poor poor thing, how on earth did you survive? What evil and cruel people you had to live around. So sad what happened to you. I am sure that no one on the entire planet has been as badly treated as you and your family. God had to have protected your life from these butchers. In prison, if you want respect it's as simple as kicking someone else's ass. In the real world you get respect by the "content of your character", by rising above your circumstances, by hard work and perseverance, by accepting discipline and correction, not from lame excuses and blaming others! People hate and blame as a form of denial! Did Hitler hate the Jews because he'd been oppressed by them? Did McVey blow up the federal building because he was being oppressed by the government? People do that because their souls are sick and it's an easier choice than having the courage to change!

I really don't recall, ever reading or hearing Thomas Sowell, on being Black; but I don't find it strange that he would bemoan Black children being born into poverty...or White children, for that matter. Also, as a free Conservative, I could imagine him viewing the Black's relationship with the Democratic party, in large part, the cause. Actually, a Conservative sees a great many of America's troubles, for "all" races, as a result of Progressive policies. So, when you say he's calling out Blacks for "just about anything there is about being black", I'm gonna take that to mean, that he sees a whole lot wrong with Black society, that he says Blacks won't be able to fix, until Blacks distance themselves from the Democratic party. But, to clarify: Do you think that White's think it's alright "for them" to call blacks out for this'n'that, "as a result of" what Sowell is saying...like, as if they feel justified to voice what they already believe because they now have Sowell's (a Black man's) encouragement (or permission, if you will)? I'm just not sure what you meant.

When you say that you "don't expect black people to be anything more than themselves", are you saying that, due to the racism they have endured, their condition to-day doesn't surprise you; or are you saying that you don't think they "can" become more (as in, rising above their present condition) than themselves? Again, fom...I'm not quite sure what you mean. Evil, though...that's another thing. Yes, it's the wound from which all suffering bleeds. And, it won't be seared shut till the End comes. We cannot fight it head-on; but by seeking Good...and letting Good do the work. Fighting it straight on, like "fighting fire with fire", doesn't work so well. At least, that's not how the hose house boys usually do it. But, as we know, it's a lifelong search. Looking for good, trying to figure out if something's good or only "appears" good, trying to do good...that's all tuff enough; but trying to see the Evil...or the various forms of it inside ourselves...now...that gets tricky. You're right, fom. Evil is the real enemy.

Oh but I understand, you are a forgiving kind gentle loving person who has found it better to forgive, but never let anyone put the past where it belongs. A person not wanting pity may relay their story once, but they do not keep repeating it embellishing it more and more. People that forgive, remembers the past but only to use as a guidelines or a useful tool so they can see their future. A bitter person, keeps the anger, the hate, the exact words that were said so alive it is like reliving it everyday. They know the smallest details because they hate and no one will take that hate and anger from them because that is all they have. And it shows. The selection of words, their need to argue a point until their opponent gives up. They crave pity, but they do not want anyone to say it out loud, they want an apology, but have no idea of how to accept one, they simply want revenge but do not know how to exact a justified action, so they complain how awful the white man is/was/and ever shall be, they go into graphic detail of the sins and wrongs that another committed, and then the put the cherry on top by saying "you don't understand." god forbid that someone bring up any bad decisions of your tribe, or race, because then that person has to be a racist. Never mind that you have just gone on and on of how awful white men are. That is not racist.

So, I say to you that I was wrong in trying to befriend or encourage you. You are a hostile person and your intent is not discussion but to vent your hatred. I will not be a party to feeding your anger. Good Luck!
