AND I'm not done. I, and most of my friends, who are largely conservatives, are probably more socialist/communist minded in the true sense than you or any of the lefties on OPP. It's called being a true Christian. My personal creed is, if I have two of something and you have none, I will happily give you one and be glad to do it. I give money and food to the poor where I see a need, even tho I have lived paycheck to paycheck all of my adult life. I help people where I can with information, money, rides, chores and the like, with no expectation of return, even though I'm 67 years old and still have 2 jobs to keep body and soul together. If I can show somebody how to do something, I will and I'm happy to do it. I'm so sick and tired of listening to you libbies on OPP with your sanctimonious and SJW talking points and i wonder how many of you PERSONALLY do anything for anybody ( that means also strangers and acquaintances, not just your families and goombahs) ever, when i do, and many of my friends do, day after day, and year after year. Cuz i know your leaders sure as hell dont! Y'all should try it sometimes cuz you know what? It always comes back around and if you take care of as well as you can you are always taken care of, sometimes in the most amazing ways.

If folks are going to truly be charitable, right wing, left wing has no bearing on it. It's about doing what you can for others with what you've been blessed with yourself.
Your twist on this topic in a political way makes me proud of what my wife, and I do for the animal rescues around here. See, every last one of those animals....well except a few cats are Democrats. But we love them, and help them anyway. They are more grateful, appreciative, and loving than any human on either side could ever be.

Yep. Im certainly no Mother Theresa myself!! Ive told people straight out that I'll help them when theyre ready to help themselves. Your friend will be grateful later when he has the pride of digging out of his dark place on his own - with help from his friends Sometimes you need to get to that place where you HAVE to turn to God for help. And God is no Santa for sure, tho some people mix that up , but if you ask to be shown the way to help yourself, the path always appears.

I and my church DO walk the walk. We gave somewhere around half of what money was needed to drill a fresh water well in the Sudan. The letter we received from them said the well would provide fresh water to 100 people for many, many years to come. We help support an orphanage in Honduras. We support a husband and wife team that prints Bibles and tracts in many languages to be given away. We support a missionary that works with the merchant marines. We help support one who is in a Muslim country. We help support a husband and wife team in the Philippines. We even help support a man in prison, wrongly convicted of murder, as he goes through seminary school. And there are others we help support. Though I can't buy anything from your source, my wife and I already give as much as we can. Your idea is a good one, too.

How about addressing people as people not as an entity! Today is giving Tuesday, give to the charity of ur choice! Harvest crusade, billy graham etc. investigate the charity and make sure they give it to people not the ceo! No Red Cross or goodwill, they are not legit! Salvation Army is! Give to the soul not just the body! Give food and blankets, include a bible! This country was founded by Men that recognized our need for God! In God we trust! This is our mantra!
