What truth do you want to read? If you don't trust the media then you keep a closed mind on what you choose to read. There needs to be trust in news reporting or you will begin to see conspiracy theories where they report news you choose to reject. Try to keep an open mind and read many different news analysis reports until you gain some trust in the free press. Don't only read what you wish to see reported - because that's the "fake news" that's being slanted to keep you misinformed intentionally. It takes some hard work to live in a democracy and to see all points of view.

To whom are you addressing? If you would, use the quote reply button so we know what the other poster may have said to trigger your response. Thank you. And welcome to OPP, I hope to see more of your comments.

Speaking of response, I agree with you. When I read something reported in the news and it interests me, I read at least four more views in other papers (if I can find) before I even consider forming an opinion. Otherwise, as I see it we form flat opinions that could be based on misleading biasness.

Thanks for your response and for enlightening me on the proper way to reply to a post.
Unfortunately, many of the posts I read on this forum come across as crass and uninformed.
Not sure I want to waste my time on people with closed minds.
Nice to know there are some thoughtful and probing comments along with the others.

You are most welcome. OPP is unique in many ways and there are some logical and thoughtful members. When I first joined, I spent time reading the comments of the "active" participants.
This is relatively easy to do.... if you click on the poster's name (from the home page) it will take you to that member's home page and from there you can read all their threads and comments. I found their introductory post the most revealing, it is when the person first joins and that first comment which is the most revealing and honest. People seem to become bolder as they earn popularity or in some cases, scorn. It is interesting to watch people evolve.

I honestly think you should stick around for a while before you decide to stay or leave.
Leave your options open and you may find that you can actually learn from some people here.
I am also certain that many people can learn from you. Be honest and true to yourself... when you are, you will find you can easily ignore those who are consistently crass, because we all loose patience every once in a while do not write them off due to a temporary dip in the cesspool. Passions run deep in some topics and tempers are lost with the sanity of commonsense. I have taken that dip and I say that without pride but with a ton of humility.

If I can help you in any way, just drop me a PM (Private Message) and I will help if I can or point you to someone who can. I believe that you will be a breath of clean air for us..... it has been too long since someone has joined who is objective.

Just a short addendum to Pennylynn's comment. There are also some people on here who are VERY intelligent and well informed. And if they don't know something they take the time to find out. Pennylynn being one at the top of those.

Thank you Emily...I think you are the only one who agrees with me...

Agree with Emily’s comments as well... Acosta should feel lucky the President even still acknowledges and puts up with his ranting and personal opinions instead of asking relevant questions as any good journalist reporter should. Being that these press conferences are not mandatory but solely at the President’s option. he has every right to expect a certain amount of decorum and respect.

Hope you stick around and post here, MeadowFields.
Thanks for the wise words Penny.
People just have to do their own weeding here.
All should try to have fun here while "learning" and "educating".

Thank you for your cordiality - it's most appreciated.
I suppose I will hang around a little longer to measure the worth of this forum.
However, if the dialogue deteriorates to a degree where there are personal affronts or swear words hurled at me then I'm "outta here".
