Whether you leave or stay will not impact OPP or even the members of OPP. Further, any individual who is too sensitive need to back away from all forums which are open to encouraging discussion on Religion and politics. OPP is an "open" forum which means that people have an outlet to put up for discussion a wide range of topics. And it does not "force" or "compel" anyone to read or contribute to any threads. There are rules, which you may not have read, and there are measures that Admin will take when an individual breaks those rules. But, there is a great deal of freedom on OPP that gives an uncensored outlet for complaints or discussions. There are times when people's feelings get hurt... it happens when adults disagree.

I have been polite with you, as I am with all people I encounter, but I can not walk on eggshells for fear of you taking offense. So, stay or go.... your decision. I certainly invite you to stay but due to our limited exchanges find no reason to ask you to stay nor will I miss you should you leave.

Thank you for your cordiality - it's most appreciated.
I suppose I will hang around a little longer to measure the worth of this forum.
However, if the dialogue deteriorates to a degree where there are personal affronts or swear words hurled at me then I'm "outta here".

Well put Penny. She hasn't been here long enough to figure her out pro or against.
Seems to me she may be a thin skinned liberal.

Oh Well

I hear you loud and clear. I'm not an ultra sensitive individual and can give as well as I can take.
I'm a combat veteran of the Korean conflict and have seen my share of people's behavior and have been around the block once or twice.
I just refuse to get down in the gutter by throwing epithets and abandoning all civil discourse with those posts that resort to name calling because they're unable or unwilling to argue rationally for their cause.
Thanks for taking the time to acquaint me with OPP and let's see where it goes -

I am also a veteran... although of the Vietnam Conflict. I do not participate in name calling but I will not pull punches when a person demonstrates ignorance. We have a fair share of ignorant people which in a strange sense makes OPP more entertaining. Interesting enough, there are times when I am a member of the uninformed and ignorant and do not have an issue with being told when I am fishing in an empty aquarium. Of course, I require a person to prove their view before I amend my position. Just telling me I am stupid does not support their position.

So, you are a veteran of the Korean Conflict... that would make you an elder on OPP.... meaning, you are obligated to train and lead by example. When you encounter an individual using profanity, you have three choices.... ignore, let the individual know that you will not respond to bad behavior, or report the issue to Admin. You can report it by using the "Report Issue" button and providing Admin with why you feel/think it is inappropriate. Admin reviews each complaint on an individual basis and if they agree with you, the offender will be notified and the offending comment will be deleted. If the member persists in inappropriate activities they will be suspended for a time or may even be banned from the forum. So, although OPP will not censor your comments, there are rules on behavior and OPP has recently cracked down on two areas, which seem to be your primary concern: profanity and personal attacks.... whether in name calling or using inappropriate memes that may express a personal attack. Attacks of a belief or political position are not consider "personal." OPP has one other method to identify "trigger" comments, each night they run a program that identifies profanity and words that include the proclamation of another's ignorance. When the system identifies a comment that includes a "trigger" term, it is f**gged and Admin will then review the comment to ensure rules have not been broken. If rules are broken then Admin will take appropriate steps.

I hope this eases your fears/concerns over inappropriate conduct or language used by members of OPP.

Hmmm..interesting sign. Why, tho, does no one mention that journalists are supposed to REPORT FACTUAL NEWS, not create it, drive a narrative, or debate and attempt to correct heads of state. More false libbies nonsense. Dance around the real issues to push fear and chaos.

Yep

We sure are lacking honest journalists these days.
A lot of script readers on the ABCNBCCBS network.

FOX standing up for freedom of the press and due process, how low can they stoop? If you are really going to turn off the FOX h**e spigot consider watching PBS news hour for a week. They present the best in journalism, real news.

Speaking t***h to power is not driving a narrative, when a head of state lies, holding them accountable is the job of good journalists, not pimping the lie.

He was "correcting" and attempting to debate. Fyi, kevyn, when someone dosagrees with you they are NOT lying. Just for future reference.

You really need to look at an actual transcript. I think you are ignoring the uncivil, sarcastic and petulant interruptions to many of the reporter's questions by the president as well as his mugging faces and striking poses to the audience! And then, as well, Trump's utter discomfiture when he realized he'd lost the exchange anyway by being simply unable to stop himself once again over and over addressing Acosta and thus giving him leeway to ask more questions!

Hint. If you want to end a conversation, just stop.
