To Mr Ed. My conscience is quite clear. And I'm quite sure I have no subconscious curiosity. I understand and respect your views. However, the law and the Constitution are on my side. I know you've tried to keep this discussion on a civil level. So for now we're done.

Sorry......but, to what pain are you referencing? I see that he supported the murder of his child. That is not sorrow or remorse, that is acquiesce to his girlfriend. He, like you, are staunch supporters of homosexuals...... I saw nothing in any of his post that even hints at sorrow or remorse.....

You have incredible heart. I will repeat here something I have quoted before (cannot remember where credit is due)...

It was because I did not know, that I asked,
"what is beauty?" and then,
I saw a toad sitting beneath a lily,
and I wondered,
was the toad admiring the lily,
or the lily the toad,
and this is how I came to know,
that beauty is of the spirit,
it cannot be held by human hand,
but only in the cloister of the heart.
For this, you and I must remember,
because sometimes the world forgets.

I, too, am sorry for your pain. I know, or at least, I try to imagine, how hard it must be for you to be so fair minded and not angry at the universe. May I just say, "thank you" for reminding us that we have never walked in another's shoes, and until, or unless we do, we should not judge. Beauty is truly of the spirit. Yes, we do sometimes forget.
You have incredible heart. I will repeat here som... (show quote)

How did you miss the fact that he stated that he begged her not to have an abortion. I'm sorry, but that speaks to sorrow to me. What was he supposed to do, lock her in a room until she gave birth to a child she did not want, would not love? Now, bringing a child into the world that is unloved -- that's a true SIN. The fact that jimbino is all encompassing, seems to be what you are taking us BOTH to task over. I admit it is a cross some of us must bear, some of us pay a price for, a rather huge one from time to time, but you know what, it's a cross worth bearing.

As for your throwing in the comment that jimbino and I are staunch supporters of homosexuality, I puzzle why you should throw that into the middle of your comment about abortion first of all and second how might you come by that premise in the first place? Have you seen either of us interviewed by the media or pictures of us leading marches? Again, all I have seen from my fellow poster is an ability to embrace all of mankind, differences and all, being nonjudgmental and not trying as some do on this site to impose their way of life on others or who condemn those they deem "sinful" to an afterlife in hell. I'm glad "those" people don't have God's ear. If memory serves me, in another post you said you had people who were homosexuals spend the night at your house. Were you just acting in a civilized manner because that's what your Papa taught you or were you acting out of friendship? True friendship means accepting warts and all another individual.

I find it really interesting how some individuals claim to know God's thoughts. Wonder when it comes to judgment day, how God will look upon them.

The time to think about birth control is before having sexual relations. Abortions are too frequently used as a means of birth control but the difference is the child is killed, the heart is stopped and the baby is removed in sections. This to me is neither part of God's plan nor should it be acceptable to anyone. Regardless if you believe in God or not, compassion for an innocent life should make people think twice. Again, this is a product of poor parenting. A mother has to explain commitment that should accompany a sexual relationship. And in the case of modern mothers, they need to teach their daughters about birth control and the proper use. So often people encourage abortion, in particular if the expectant life is an inconvenience on the careless parents. If you wish to discuss the sin issue, I will be glad to go into that; but that would lengthen this comment beyond the patience of other people. What you have done is between you and your belief system. I am sure that you or he have done your best to make restitution, or at least justify your actions to be able to sleep at night.

The issue with gays, their "right" to marry was part of the original post and brought up a second time by the author. I simply provided feedback. If my opinion bothers you, I recommend you skim over my comments and not bother to stop and read. I will not change my beliefs for your comfort.

Regarding your reference to hell. That is a Christian belief. It is not applicable to me or my beliefs. I have never claimed to know God's thoughts, but I do know the laws that he provided us to live by. When I am judged, I know that I will not be spotless in God's eyes because I am human and have made mistakes. I have done my penitence and I move forward with the knowledge of what I did wrong and I do my best never to repeat the mistakes.

In my post about having gay friends, I am sure that I also wrote that in my home they do not spend the night together. I have no hatred for the individuals, I believe that a homosexual act is sinful. I can show understanding for transgender people without endorsing, encouraging, or condoning the act of sexual indulgence in my home. We are taught not to turn a traveler, or a guest away but to offer food, sleeping arrangements, and clothing if they have a need. It would be helpful if you understood the traditions of my faith. But, you do not and I do not have the room in comments to teach you about hospitality and how to be a good host or guest. Please let me know if you need a list of recommended readings.

Well, might I remind "you" that I was responding to YOUR post to ME. It was not my intent to make this "personal" -- but to merely answer your query to me. However, WE can go there since I see you finished you comments with that veiled hostility that you are SO good at under the guise of civility. On second thought, "we" can't, but if the spirit moves you, please feel free.

Okay, you have made your point and I did get too emotional over the thought of killing a child. It is my opinion and I should have been shorter. Point taken. I do not have any hostilities toward you but my saying that will not make you feel better. I hope that you find a way to deal with your animosity for me.

You know, I had no animosity until... You chose a path. I chose a path. I have always respected your right to your opinion. You took objection to mine and rather unkindly gave your opinion. We teach people how to treat us, and no longer shall I choose to just lie down and let anyone, regardless of how I view them, friend, once upon a time friend or enemy for that matter, trample and dismiss me as so much trash to take out.

Thoughts for you. In the time of the bible and right up to present, unwanted babies were left out to die of exposure or eaten by wild animals. Read the story of Romulas and Remas. Left out for the wolves. And Moses got lucky. Really a baby floating down river in a sinking reed basket.
So you are against abortion. Have you ever seen pictures of unwanted babies? I have. I'd much rather the child had been aborted than tortured to death. I read about one baby girl the was put in a frying pan and fried. New borns in dumpsters.
I don't like abortion either, but if it is done in the first three months, when most are done, it is at that point about an inch long and looks like a polywog. No heat beat yet. No nerve endings to feel anything. Yes, some are done later in the pregnancy but then only because something has gone wrong. My cousin had one at seven months. Her son had died and was starting to decompose. Poisoning her. They took him all in one piece and there was a funeral.

Your arguments are rather pathetic. You're basically saying unwanted children end up being tortured or abused. That's a bit of a stretch to make your point. I would guess that those would be the exception rather than the rule as you imply. And anyway is it the baby's fault if it was born to abusive parents? But you would just as soon have it aborted rather than take that chance. And you also seem to be implying that since a 3-month-old fetus doesn't resemble a fully developed human being that it's OK to just discard it if it's inconvenient. Is that about right?

I can't imagine your cousin's and family's pain -- to look forward in anticipation of a much wanted child and then for this to happen. Thank you for expressing what I was unable to in my last posts. All children brought into this world should have that inalienable right to be loved, and as you so succinctly pointed out, that is not the nature of the society we live in -- true tragedy, that it is.

I would also say they have the inalienable right not to be aborted before they're brought into this world.
