The funny part of this is that Kaepernick was originally protesting losing his starting job to a white guy, but when he got a lot of attention it morphed into the protest against police brutlity against blacks; by simple timing alone. But this is even better. When he became the "symbol" of the down trodden black person, NIKE started paying him with the promise to bring it out when the timing was right; now I guess. So, in reality, he has sacrificed NOTHING AT ALL. Nike is sided up with the left and is hoping this will get more young people to buy their stuff.

I bought New Balance shoes, and am intending to buy some more. I hope NB is not a subsidiary of Nike.

Just googled it and New Balance is a separate company based in Boston. No part of Nike!
BOYCOTT nike!!!!!!
They could have used so many others to promote their company, i.e. Tim Tebow, Pat Tillman (a real HERO)! I guess their philosophy is what’s bad is good and what’s good is bad. They are taking the same path as Dick’s sporting goods and their sales have dropped. I see Nike’s stocks took a hit!
Nike thinks they are doing the right thing, maybe they can get nfl players to kneel in front of their stores during the next civil unrest to prevent the little dirt bags from stealing their product. JUST DO IT!

Like I said. Nike is throwing in with the leftists and the anti-Trumps. They probably think it's help their international sales figuring other countries don't like Trump. But, from what I can tell, it's mainly a leadership thing.

At any rate, no more Nike for me.

Nike has so many others to choose from and they pick a loser, their stock dropped today and i hope it continues just like dick's sporting goods. they could have chosen Tim Tebow or Pat Tillman, a real hero. They dropped Tiger Woods like a hot potato, and sign semi-colin. Their merchandise will move the next time colins followers riot and they steal it, all those peace loving, cop hating, criminals will take a knee and thank him, i'm sure. The next time there is civil unrest Nike can have a group of NFL players kneel in front of their stores to protect them.

BOYCOTT NIKE!!!!!!! most of their products are made overseas anyway.

I just did. Went to the shoe store today to buy some winter-weather walking shoes. I had researched what I wanted and the Nike shoe was what I decided. Then I heard about this, so although I did like the Nike shoe I picked at first, the New Balance shoe was just as comfortable, so I bought those.

I have a question Kev. Before all this protest started the Anthem was sang or played before every game. Were was the disgust and outrage that you and others are expressing now before ? Why wasn't the Anthem being protested then ? If you and others that have taken this stance why did it only start with Kaepernick ? It seems to me for people to feel so strongly about something there should have been cries of protest then. Or do all the sheep just wait for someone to lead them down a path of utter folly ?

The solution to me is pretty simple, stop playing the national anthem at professional games. Football is nothing but an entertainment product similar to a movie or concert. It sullies our national anthem to use it as a promotional device. During games many attendees are standing; in line to get beer or in front of a urinal. If it is so sacred that players respectfully kneeling in a silent protest to make our nation more just are denigrated shouldn’t concessions be shut down and restrooms closed during its playing? What is disrespectful during the anthem, reverently kneeling, or standing in front of a pissor with your flopper in your mitt relieving yourself of the mornings tailgate party beer?

Columbia makes a good winter walking shoe also. I don’t know if they are in your region. Good job on your decision.

At first I thought this was the stupidest corporate move since New Coke.

But maybe they are tapping into a market of America-haters that's bigger and has more money than I thought.

We'll see.

Probably correct. There are more of them out there than we even know.

The anthem is not being protested, the reverent protest during the anthem is to focus attention of the deaths and mistreatment of African Americans at the hands of some police.

They only protest during the National Anthem.

Not when they're being interviewed.
Not when the coach is taking to them.
Not when they're doing paid photo ops or commercials.
Not when they're picking up groupies.

It's not a coincidence.

Of course they're protesting the National Anthem.

Maybe cops and other first responders should take a knee before responding to emergency calls to honor their brothers in arms that were killed or assassinated by street thugs. Oh that’s right they’re paid BIG money to work 52 weeks a year, and not millions to play a few games and dance like a chorus girl.

Ole kappy been getting paid all this time. No sacrifice.

For us who know better, no Nike.

NFL viewers down 33%. Still no NFL glory for kappy. I never liked him anyway, Fidel Castro shirt or not.

When I stand, I stand in defiance of those who spit on the anthem and the flag, which reminds us of how we won our freedom.

You are completely wrong, I love our flag and national anthem; what you fail to understand is that they are little but symbols of the ideas and ideals our nation represents. Our flag is disgraced if it is flown over a dictatorial regime, if men with genuine grievances are forced to stand and salute it against their will. The right wing nationalist blood and soil crowd are as un American as they come, I don’t mind them carrying the flags of our defeated foes the Nazis and confederacy, it reminds us who our true enemies are. When they wrap themselves in the Stars and Stripes while spitting on our nations values you should be outraged, not when an athlete reverently kneels for the anthem in a quiet effort to get the attention of others and encourage them to work to build a more perfect and just union.

You don't love America. You say the anthem and flag 'are but symbols' of the ideals our nation represents, but I say it represents the nation itself. If what you say is true, then the swastika is 'just' a symbol, the KKK flag is just a symbol, the antifa flag is just a symbol. Our flag is disgraced when it flies over an administration that allowed US envoys to be murdered, that withheld subpoenaed evidence, that destroyed subpoenaed evidence, rigged a national presidential primary, caused more racial unrest than any POTUS I've ever seen, and yet you say it is disgraced when it flies over an administration that is doing everything it can to uphold laws already on the books.
Our nations values are the ones being restored under Trump, not the pathetic disarray that our country fell into over the previous administration's eight years in office. My God, we couldn't even say Merry Christmas, a traditional holiday (even if you're not Christian) that has been celebrated in this country for at least 170 years. Why was that? Because Obama was more Muslim that anything else, and Muslim's don't like Christianity. But NOW, we can say it like we did before. It's alright to pray in public again. Ever since this country was started, all Americans have an indwelt knowledge of right and wrong, what is fair, what is good, and what is bad. Most of us still have that knowledge and have respect for our history. No, we weren't perfect, but look at the rest of the world during the trying times. We were never any worse than the rest of our little planet.
Now, liberals want to tear down all of the values you seem to be speaking of but are not.
How did it make you feel to see antifa burn the flag you so dearly love? I would say not nearly as bad as patriot Americans wearing the flag in pride and standing for traditional American values. I say YOU are un American !!!
