I certainly appreciate the defense. However, I don't think I'm on his "side".
My niche is an agnostic paleo-conservative and while I don't post a lot I read many of them and try to follow the links. What I dislike about many of the posts are the potty mouths, name calling and generally infantile behavior. Being a retired Master Sergeant I know all the curse words and most of the insults and I used them when necessary. They're NOT necessary here, if that's any indication of their mindset and vocabulary then they need more help than they'll ever find here. In a debate with anyone I always knew I had won when they were reduced to name calling because they had no facts or logic on their side.

It is my opinion that there are more than one reason for all of the stupidity and rudness, guessing, ete. etc. Is because for the most part, neither side knows what is really going on in our country.

From the top to the bottom of our elected officals none, or perhaps it would be better to say, "very few" are brave enough to really come out and say what they truly stand for. Our nation has become a nation of "I want my way no matter what it cost or who has to pay for it."

Pogo's famous line was, "I think I saw the enemy and I think it was us."

Folks don't seem to understand for the most part that the government is "us". When a dollar is spent by the government it is the taxpayers money that is being spent.

We have elected these people to represent us all of us whether Lib. or Cons. We must understand that the us and them has to stop or we ourselves will panic our nation to destruction.

Old adages and quotes from founding fathers can be used to support both views, but they do nothing to deal with the problems at hand.

We seem to forget that we have people whose bread winner or winners have been out of work not just for week, months, but in some cases a year or more. This is not only devasting to one who has worked all their lives, but it is a sin and a shame how it came about.

Both sides of the isle has to accept their part of being responsibible for the shaape we find ourselves in.

It is time for we the little people to stop being small minded and return to the WE THE PEOPLE, that made this nation what it once was. Let's stop the bickering and let's start some meaningful dialogue. Who knows there just may be a statesman in the bunch.
