Undiagnosed PTSD. Viet Nam era vets. Crazy posters on OPP, with unbridled hatred, r****m and bigotry.

A trifecta.

And a reason to avoid stupid, senseless wars.

Unless chickenhawks prevail.

Some are just salivating with the idea of getting involved in Ukraine.

Not all us from that era are nuts Bo.

For those chickenhawks that believe we should use military force in Ukraine I say pack your bags and go for it. Show the world how tough you real American Patriots are!

THE ONLY THING HOLDING YOU BACK IS A LACK OF NERVE.......Eh?

Bo, if I am reading your post correctly and as intended, you know not of what you speak. Attempting to corral veterans, those that have PTSD as a result of live combat, crazy posters on OPP, with unbridled hatred, r****m, and bigotry into one group is very disingenuous. Anyone that has been in live combat, that has seen friends and buddies maimed or k**led, does not RELISH the opportunity to engage in further combat. They have performed and done their duty, but DO NOT salivate at the idea of 'getting involved in Ukraine'. YOU are attempting to corral all of these individuals in to a herd because many present a push back to the opinions post by you, Retired 669, Kevyn and others.

Allow me to explain this push back that you receive from this group. Many veterans on this board have had skin the game, have made sacrifices for this country that you can only imagine. At the end of the day, they begin to question WHY the politicians sacrificed so many of their brothers on the alter of political correctness. They question the current t***sformation of our country where the Federal Government /Obama Administration are all powerful, and the average citizen is losing their personal freedoms are an alarming rate. Some are very vocal with their opinions, but I feel they have earned that right. The opinions posted by the veterans and conservatives are treated with raw disrespect by the progressive posters on OPP. Personal attacks are the norm.

I agree on one aspect of your post: 'And a reason to avoid stupid, senseless wars'. The only people that salivate at the opportunity to get involved with Ukraine are the politicians that want to make a name at the expense of those that serve, the bankers, or the executive of weapons manufacturers. We have to ask what was accomplished with the war in Iraq and currently Afghanistan? Massive increases in the National Debt, & our military personnel k**led / injured / or ground down from multiple rotations. Obama engaged in an undeclared war in Libya & wanted to engage in another undeclared war in Syria. For WHAT purpose?????????? Does this man looking out for our best interest? I do not think so!

Oh, and one more item. I personally do not meet the definition of bigot, nor am I a r****t. Hurling those terms out is a tactic used to hush quell any rebuttals is no longer working for the progressive posters. Honest dialogue is the coin of the day. You are better than needing to resort to such tactics.

I agree with you 100%. Not all VN veterans are having problems. Many have had or are still in successful careers, or enjoying retirement and living the good life.

The point of the article is that some are still mal-adjusted, and some of those have found this forum to post the hatred and fear of their inner demons.

The lack of respect for differing opinions is amazing, as is the complaining about wh**ever it is they don't like.

shrunken peter,

Man up and address Mr. Retired 669 yourself.

You might as well add coward to the list of crazies who post here

WE go to war, WE get involved, because WE continue to send people to DC who become dependent on political power. Reality is lost. Everything this "royalty" gets involved in sacrifices and in turn diminishes integrity and responsibility. WE, through the elected elite, send our young men and women into war and willingly accept rules of engagement the "enemy" has no intention of respecting. We should strengthen and stabilize our homeland and let the second and third world rot or stabilize and develop. WE continue to bankrupt OUR generation and those of our children and grandchildren through aid and grants confiscated by the corrupt "royalty" of other nations. What is the end result of all of the lives and treasure WE, by political demand, have dispatched worldwide? Viet Nam? Bosnia? Korea? Iraq? Afghanistan? Successful? And OUR current "leadership?" Capable?

My quote reply seems kaput.

Ninetogo.....that was nicely stated. I think you are correct that attempting to herd all those cats was overreach. But I think you also tried to tie together too many unrelated thoughts.

"Allow me to explain this push back that you receive from this group. Many veterans on this board have had skin the game, have made sacrifices for this country that you can only imagine. All Americans have skin in the game. Whether we go to war, send our sons and daughters, or pay the taxes that fund the wars. Not to devalue the actual service members, just to broaden the sphere of discussion. Vets are not the only folks who question why we go to war. And I'm really unclear how political correctness fits into the picture.
But then you veer into points that are allegations: that the federal gov't and Obama administration are all-powerful and that Americans are losing their personal freedoms. Naturally you are entitled to that opinion, but it is not a fact that can be proven. And not only vets have the right to those opinions.

The opinions of vets and conservatives are not necessarily the same. Some of the most vocal disagreements with conservatives on this site come from vets themselves. And when it comes to disrespect and personal attacks, conservatives are no angels, either. They are not the innocent recipients of hurled insults. They give as good as they get.

Respectfully....

Yes Bo, peeweetee is another in a long list of spineless tea bagging cowards that post here. None of them are willing to put their ass on the line for Ukraine but they are willing to send other men and women to another s**t hole country for no good reason to fight a war they believe needs to be fought.

Most of them won't show up in May for the Take Our Country Back rally for the same reason lack of nerve. Most of the time I read their nonsense laugh and move on. As the country moves forward many of these i***ts want to go back in time. Kinda reminds me of a child never out growing their security blanket.

I am a Nam vet. Are you saying we are all crazy, having "unbridled hatred, r****m and bigotry"?
