With anyone involved in politics, lies are a given. They all lie. Some more than others. The lies of some cause more damage to the country than others. I haven't seen, read, or heard of any lies told by Trump that have inflicted even a miniscule amount of damage to the American people, and people of other countries as compared to the last two.

I never could stand the man, but I held my nose, and fought my gag reflex while I voted for him, and now I'm discusted by the way I see a large segment of the American population behaving. I'm not mad at the job he's doing while swimming upstream, against the wind, through twilve feet of snow, while repeatedly being struck by lightning, and chewed on by piranhas. Has he lied,? You bet! They all do!!

But, if he said he had a piece of peach pie for dessert, when it was, in fact, cobbler, people go nuts screaming "LOOK! HE LIED! HE LIED! HE LIED!

I believe that if he didn't care about America, he would tell us to fk off in the face of all of this, and walk away. And I wouldn't blame him!

If you've ever tried to help someone who does nothing but shit down your throat in spite of your efforts, you would understand too.

I do support his efforts at making things better for America, and to be told daily by the Media, and people here who have no clue as to who I am that I'm an immoral piece of trash makes me just dig in my heels that much harder!

Soapbox dismounted.

I have a life to live, and things to do.

Our political opponents have been groin-kicking and eye-gouging, politically speaking, for many years even though that is against the rules. Now folks on the right don't care how much the left cries rules and morality and "the chidleren". They just aren't listening anymore and the left has no one to blame but themselves. Their arrogance has come home to roost and Establishment Republicans better get out of the way, like the author of this piece, right along with them.

Back during the campaign, Donald Trump’s defenders called us conservatives crazy for saying that Trump was more comparable with Barack Obama, than with a defender of honest American values.

Now that he’s in office, the mask is off. The Party of Trump has no principles except winning, at any cost. They want a government that lies to you, as long as the liars are wearing the right color of shirt.

John Nolte is the perfect example of this new Republican Party mindset, as the party abandons the American values of Ronald Reagan, and becomes a ruthless vehicle to advance the ego of Donald Trump. He supports an amoral administration, one that actively emulates the Democrats, re-creating the ending of Animal Farm, in which man and pig became indistinguishable.

This attitude is similar to the one we saw during the election from Ace of Spades, in which he declared he was going to become a Democrat, because principle didn’t matter to him, only relentless partisanship.

Is this what the Republican party stands for now? Lies, dirty tricks, and a winning-is-everything attitude? It’s clearly what Donald Trump stands for. Must the entire party be dragged down to his level? Apparently so.

Ronald Reagan said that he didn’t leave the Democrats, but rather they left him. I won’t echo that. I’ve left the Republican Party, because the Republican Party has left principles behind.

AuntiE demanded that I produce an avatar with a smooth, clean-shaven face wearing a smile.

I sullenly acquiesced.

Sir/ma'am, you'll need to hit 'quote reply' beneath the post/comments to whom you're responding. Otherwise, we can't be sure as to whom your comments are addressed. It is common for a 'newbie' to be informed of such.

I think we had an election Tuesday where so much of what Stevens said was proved to be wrong in that so many of those things happened from the Democrats. Lies, dirty tricks and winning-is-everything. I failed to see much of that from the right but lots of it from the left. I tire quickly hearing that my side is lying because the media keeps talking about it. I am sure from having read about the silly as hell election in Ohio being just what they do all the time. I won't talk about dirty tricks since I see them on both sides. However, I don't see Trump exceeding any of these things any more than the Democrats

I don't think I see the Party being dragged down anywhere but sure do see my one time party getting pretty far down there.

Reagan was hated in his time, more than Trump is now, yet his name is now invoked ?

Mr. Neil Stevens: Don't let the door hitcha on the way out. I see you as a CINO up in here. I suppose that Mitch McConnell & Paul Ryan are just peachy keen then eh?

So, what lies? No list. Have anything to show us that is under the mask? What real damage has Mr. T done to the USA?

I left the Rs because of Bush. 'Patriot' Act my rear end. You leave, uh...because---?? Mr. T too hard on establishment fringe stream FAKE media? Too tough on ILLEGAL immigration? Is demolishing 0blameUS' war on US business via over regulation by getting rid of big brother regs? WOW! You think it's bad lots of US companies are coming back HERE!? That Mr. T FINALLY got Lil Kim to an actual talk? That Mr. T is trying to eliminate tariffs on US exports by implementing a tariff hike on foreign goods? His tariff thing is a maneuver to get rid of tariffs or reduce them greatly & create a more level export/import global playing field. You have a better suggestion? Sure, the US will feel pain, at first. What will we feel once Mr. T wins on tariffs? EU is starting to come around by the way. Mr. T is standing up to China. Mr. T! How could you even contemplate preventing China from stealing US intellectual property! Oh the shame of it! And the very high tariffs the Chinese impose on their US imports. Forget about that?

I suppose you think Hilldabeast would have been better? We all know that Mr. T isn't a Billy Sunday or Graham. But unlike all the others running last election, he at least has the stones to take on the deep state & their NWO Dimm RINO-CINO establishment. One thing obvious to all--Mr. T mos def has the right enemies! Even some ON the right.

Bye bye.

With the average age on OPP probably 70+, I suspect you'd be surprised at how many know of Billy Sunday. He is somewhat of an historical figure. It was speculated that Sinclair Lewis loosely modeled 'Elmer Gantry' after Sunday in response to his popularity.
