Back during the campaign, Donald Trump’s defenders called us conservatives crazy for saying that Trump was more comparable with Barack Obama, than with a defender of honest American values.

Now that he’s in office, the mask is off. The Party of Trump has no principles except winning, at any cost. They want a government that lies to you, as long as the liars are wearing the right color of shirt.

John Nolte is the perfect example of this new Republican Party mindset, as the party abandons the American values of Ronald Reagan, and becomes a ruthless vehicle to advance the ego of Donald Trump. He supports an amoral administration, one that actively emulates the Democrats, re-creating the ending of Animal Farm, in which man and pig became indistinguishable.

This attitude is similar to the one we saw during the e******n from Ace of Spades, in which he declared he was going to become a Democrat, because principle didn’t matter to him, only relentless partisanship.

Is this what the Republican party stands for now? Lies, dirty tricks, and a winning-is-everything attitude? It’s clearly what Donald Trump stands for. Must the entire party be d**gged down to his level? Apparently so.

Ronald Reagan said that he didn’t leave the Democrats, but rather they left him. I won’t echo that. I’ve left the Republican Party, because the Republican Party has left principles behind.

Not at all, El...nor would I.

I assumed (apparently in error) that OPP readers were aware that "RedState is an American conservative political blog. It functions as an opinion-based discussion forum and group blog for a variety of conservative activists.

Prior to 2017, it organized RedState gatherings for grassroots political activism which featured many prominent public figures in conservative politics. RedState is owned by the Salem Media Group, a conservative media company." Read the following for more info on RedState....

If you visit Article 4 of the United States Constitution, you will find that you are indeed a republican and so is every single US citizen.

And as long as you live in Texas, you may certainly consider yourself a " double republican".

I shouldn't need to explain that if you are a true blue blooded Texan.

So the republican party is not the culprit that compels your frustrations.

Neither is it the lies that you accuse us of.

You have been lied to by every president in recent history and you know it.

The t***h is that you h**e Donald J. Trump because he has destroyed political correctness and against all odds has become the most powerful, enigmatic and charismatic president since John F. Kennedy.

His base is growing literally by leaps and bounds and yes they are spellbound by the wonderful idea of " winning ".

And John Nolte has absolutely no influence in this regard.

It is Donald J. Trump that inspired that attitude.

I really am truly sorry to have to remind you that you are a member of the " losing " team.

Accusing us all of " lying and ditry tricks " will not change your losers luck.

It's your own choice to remain in perpetual denial.

We are not the perfect angels that you seem to think 'you' are.

We don't spend our days hugging puppies, and whittling out cute little anecdotes.

We work for a living.

And since Trump became president, our work has become more profitable and rewarding.

So why are you so dead set on throwing us under the bus ?

I'll tell you why, it's simple.

You're a sore loser.

Believe as you will, Wolf.

For my part, I will continue to do the same.

It is indeed heartening to know that you think of me as highly as I think of you.

BTW, it is true that I am retired and not working anymore for a living. But, after 55 years of employment and my own distributorship, I am proud to let my stock portfolio work for me. It's currently on a 10-year run of doing well.

Actually, calling RedState a conservative blog is akin to calling CBS News a conservative news source because it isn't as liberal as CNN. During the 2016 p**********l e******n, some writers on the RedState blog endorsed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for President over Donald Trump, so there is a lot of liberal rhetoric on RedState.

I occasionally read some of the stuff that they post, and I would put RedState about a hair's width right of dead center.

I wouldn't quibble with you over that assessment, as it doesn't matter to me. I research and use sources from varying perspectives. Sometimes I agree with my articles, sometimes not and sometimes partially. I put them out primarily for open discourse, for I believe that is the purpose of OPP.

However, I did find it amusing that my using RedState as a source seemed to be your reason for suggesting I was a c*******t. I actually was directly and indirectly responsible for the k*****g of large numbers of c*******t 'insurgents' during my tour in Viet Nam. My view of them as the enemy hasn't changed much at all...outside of them no longer firing at me.

I don't cheer for anyone's lies myself. I h**e being lied to worse than anything.

With anyone involved in politics, lies are a given. They all lie. Some more than others. The lies of some cause more damage to the country than others. I haven't seen, read, or heard of any lies told by Trump that have inflicted even a miniscule amount of damage to the American people, and people of other countries as compared to the last two.

I never could stand the man, but I held my nose, and fought my gag reflex while I v**ed for him, and now I'm discusted by the way I see a large segment of the American population behaving. I'm not mad at the job he's doing while swimming upstream, against the wind, through twilve feet of snow, while repeatedly being struck by lightning, and chewed on by piranhas. Has he lied,? You bet! They all do!!

But, if he said he had a piece of peach pie for dessert, when it was, in fact, cobbler, people go nuts screaming "LOOK! HE LIED! HE LIED! HE LIED!

I believe that if he didn't care about America, he would tell us to fk off in the face of all of this, and walk away. And I wouldn't blame him!

If you've ever tried to help someone who does nothing but s**t down your throat in spite of your efforts, you would understand too.

I do support his efforts at making things better for America, and to be told daily by the Media, and people here who have no clue as to who I am that I'm an immoral piece of trash makes me just dig in my heels that much harder!

Soapbox dismounted.

I have a life to live, and things to do.

My bad, and my apologies, Trooper. Admittedly, I got your post confused with El's questioning my joining the C*******t Party. I put it in the category of not paying close enough attention as to whom I'm addressing. I rarely am guilty of that, but was in this case.

My Dad was life-long member of the Marine Corps League. But since coming home from 'Nam, I have not been a 'joiner' of organizations, military or otherwise. I do a lot of intermingling & socializing with Veterans from the Waco VA or local Veterans out here in the country where I live. In fact, our unregistered and unofficial Bosque County Viet Nam Veterans group gathers on the last Wednesday of every month for a luncheon at a local restaurant in Clifton, Texas. We also have gatherings of our own in various venues...usually outdoors stuff.

Yay! The writer left the party!

Our political opponents have been groin-kicking and eye-gouging, politically speaking, for many years even though that is against the rules. Now folks on the right don't care how much the left cries rules and morality and "the chidleren". They just aren't listening anymore and the left has no one to blame but themselves. Their arrogance has come home to roost and Establishment Republicans better get out of the way, like the author of this piece, right along with them.
