I think what you're referring to are fundamental Muslims...or more devout Muslims....Secular Muslims should not be a concern...think Dr Oz...or Shaquille Oneil...the more religious, the more dangerous....I find that to be true in all religions
There are 1.8 billion Muslims in the world, 300 to 400 million of them are active terrorists operating in countries around the world. 70% to 80% of the remaining Muslims, particularly in the ME and Indonesia, are devout and committed to the idea of Sharia as a world religion. A good many of those do not actively engage in terrorist acts, but support terrorism to one degree or other, even contributing funds.
Contrary to the foolish idea that Islamic fundamentalists are driven by revenge against western nations, the seed of Islamic terrorism as we see it today began with devout Muslims rebelling against SECULAR leadership and governments of Muslim countries. The first target was Egypt, then Saudi Arabia. There were and still are acts of terrorism by militant Muslims against their own governments.
Ayman al-Zawahiri built his al-Jihad terror group specifically to overthrow the secular government of Egypt and replace it with a purely Islamic regime. Osama bin Laden rebelled against the Saudi government for pretty much the same reasons, plus he was enraged that the Saudi royals allowed coalition forces to remain in the country following the first Gulf War. These two radicals, Zawahiri and bin Laden, eventually joined forces in Afghanistan at the end of the war there and al Qaeda was born to wage war on the world.
Now, you can allude to the small percentage of Muslims who are American citizens, who have assimilated into American society and culture, who abide by our laws, go about their business peacefully, run their shops, play professional basketball, or win the Heavyweight titles, and basically play by the rules. But, these are not the ones that concern us, are they? Still, even with them, one must be vigilant. Major Hasan was a United States Army officer, he killed 13 of his fellow soldiers in one attack.
There are, in fact, mosques and madrassas all over the US in which the imams and clergy spout radicalism and hatred of western societies. Many of them are on the FBI and local LE watch lists. The San Bernardino terrorists who shot up a Christmas party attended just such a mosque, and they had direct ties to ISIS.
So, you can let your little heart bleed with pacifism and appeasement, you can be showy and affected with sympathy for Muslims, but you cannot put them all in one basket and pretend everything is copacetic.
Islam--not Christianity, not Judaism, not Hinduism, not Buddhism--Islam is the ONLY religion that has spawned a loose global network of terrorist groups that have ravaged, raped, and slaughtered many people, including fellow Muslims, all over the world.
Should I even mention the horrors that Muslim immigrants have brought to Europe?
