Actually, Obama is not so leftist/liberal/progressive as those of that persuasion expected him to be. Like Bush, he is more a puppet of the banksters and corporatists that control him, along with the rest of the politics and politicians in DC and most statehouses.

I mostly disagree that he is a puppet of banks and corporations. I concede there is an element of that. The crony capitalist in him. At heart he is a marxist. The crony capitalist is his practical side. A necessary evil to carry out his bolshevik agenda.

I've heard that before about the far left wishing he was more leftist. I imagine there were Communists who thought Lenin was a right winger.

Why address your comments to me? I was not party to the discussion on big business. I supplied a current update on the Ukraine.

This was in reply to your remark about the pull back of troops.

I say Russia pulled back its troops when their stock market & money had a set back. That is current & I say a reason for the pull back.

Thank you. I did not say anything about the article, only the headline; so your remark seemed to be curious.

Is the military run democratically?

I am talking about giant corporations here. Is it fair for government to use taxpayer money to bail out GM or the too big to fail banks that acted irresponsibly or even criminally and yet no one has been prosecuted or jailed. Is it fair that corporate welfare, again paid for with taxpayer money, dwarf entitlements that are supposed to help poor and needy INDIVIDUALS? Is it fair that politicians have raided and robbed the SS Trust Fund to bail out too big to fail banks and corporations and doled out billions to so-called failed green projects of corporations as political payback for supporting Obama? Just asking.
Is it fair for corporations to use money as a free... (show quote)

Only registered voters should be able to make political contributions. No unions, corporations or superpacs! Those are organizations, not persons! Supreme Court be damned!

How this plays out in the coming days could be the ground work for a more peaceful world.

The world could get by with out any Putin's.

To me it looks like he would like to bring back the USSR.
If he did that who's to say he would stop at that.

The rest of the world needs to step up & find peaceful ways to stop him.

That's an affirmative, buffalo. When our Government cant even protect and defend our own people and interests, like Bengazi, we really have no business running out like knights in shining armor to other countries.
Of course, the Billion dollar aide package that gets added to our Deficit isn't really what I call 'doing nothing.'
Let a large quake or typhoon hit somewhere and between Obama, Kerry, and America's already empty wallet, were sunk.

I think we need DO need to mind our own business. We (the taxpayers) have (through our interventionist foreign policy) for too long supported the military industrial complex's enrichment by sticking our nose in where it needn't have been stuck, except to support the enrichment of that same MIC. We also need to stop selling arms all over the world at taxpayer expense.

Thank you, I believe it is a tiny bobcat looking at it's stump tail. I'm sure after they got the pose and snapshot, it fell over for being so young and tiny yet! Probably couldn't see for a while afterwards either~
By the way, any house cat that has black squares up and down it's underside has wildcat mix in them. I used to have a bobcat/housecat mix years ago. Her name was Nugget. They are very devoted, loving, and loyal to their humans. They also like heights.

Really..... I did not know that. My newly adopted daughter found a pregnant cat and when it was so cold, we brought her inside. She had her kittens and all of them have the markings you describe. I will have to let Duckie know that she has a unique mixture. They are adorable, just now starting to play. No teeth yet, but they do the sideway run and trip all over themselves. Do I need to put them on a special diet when they begin to eat solid food? Any health problems we need to watch for?

Yes it could happen. But I have lived with this for over 60 years & I will till my dieing day believe that it will not happen.

I think that any one who has & knows how to use those weapons also knows that it could be the end of their life as they know it. I don't think that they would be safe any where.

We can only go on with with our day to day living by doing our best to ease the tensions as best we can.

We need to support leaders that seek ways to ease the tensions that the world has.

Our leader President Obama is laying our country's soul (so to speak) on the line to this end.

Is in in each of our soul's to seek peace or war?

I would rather risk my soul using peaceful means than look to using force to get my way.

We are at a time that begs us to work for peace in the world as we have never done before.

We need to face this issue not with fear but faith in our souls.

One way or another we will face the unknown. It is for each of us to choose the way we will face it.

Will it be seeking peaceful ways to seek peace or will it be seeking war that never has produced lasting peace.

I am sure that or voices will have little impact because we are so divided.

But each of needs to stand a be counted and feel the remorse if we choose wrong.

As I see the issue it will go the way that Big Money wants it to go.

Wars make money but peace leaves the day to day money machine with a better predictable out come.

Floyd, with all due respect, you appear to be a "peacenik" above all else. I am certainly no 'hawk'; I have been to war, as have many on these boards, and find it the most horrible thing i have ever experienced. Even being a prisoner for 13 months, as bad as that was, paled in comparison to the death and destruction on a daily, oftentimes hourly, basis. That being said, I would never, willingly, give up my freedoms to live under a totalitarian regime. Peace at all costs is no peace at all. I must stress, I am by no means advocating war with anyone, only if we are attacked. Other than that, we should keep our noses out of other peoples affairs, if they are no direct threat to us. Should we suffer another 9/11, then we go all out to eliminate the perpetrators, regardless of whom or where. There should be no "rules of engagement", either we fight to eliminate the problem or we just roll over and play dead. Have a good day.

OK, back to reality. We aren't going to do anything to Russia militarily for a few reasons...
1) Our military, following Obama's purges (yes, purges... http://nyyrc.com/blog/2013/09/what-about-that-purge-2/) and cuts is not in any shape to engage Russia on their own turf. That's craziness.
2) If we were going to do something, it would be economically. But it was Russia who crashed out money markets in 2008, so I don't think we'd be too bright to do that again. They would stomp on our heads, especially considering our debt levels.
3) We are infiltrated at all levels by Russian spies. Snowden is just the face to a much larger network. I don't think people appreciate the level of infiltration, from infowars.com to the Libertarian party of the Pauls.
4) Should Obama try anything, Russia has also forged close alliance with our former allies, like Israel and Jordan and Saudi Arabia. They would prevent Obama from escalating this into a war by providing more leaks.
5) I very much doubt the US armed forces wants a hot war with Russia. There's absolutely no need for one, and it would be insane. Many in America's armed forces are close to Russia's armed forces... they cooperate on many levels (well, used to). Also consider the veterans networks and retired intel networks. They don't want to see a needless war, either.

Bottom line, Obama is powerless... though he may not realize it.

My time in the army was in the early 60's. Sort of like a picnic.

The thing is we still have the military might to make others stop & think about going to war with us.

We have a military that can make any country sorry that they picked a fight with us.

But bottom line or country does not want to take over any other country. We have shown that in the last few wars we have been in. All the way back to Korea.

We have been the worlds policeman. We can help others police the world.

If others don't wish to join us in policing the world I say:
We can bring our troops home & defend our self against any one.

It is like saying join with us & tell Putin to (go blank) his self. Or if you wish not to join us you will be left with kissing his back side.

Is a good time to tell the world get along with each other by joining us & telling Putin where to go.

Any way I feel Big Money has a plan & there is no room in it for the BS Putin wants to pull.

Did you see how quick he stepped back when the Russian Market burped?

We may not really want all that may be in store for us. But even those of us on this forum will be able to look out for our self & get by.
