I agree with most of what you said, but this? I'm pretty sure the KKK was around before 63 and I'm also pretty sure what they said was just as stupid and NOT thought worthy then. When looking at the past, we tend to remember the good things. Remember all the kids with those weird crutches because of Polio? Not everything was better back then.

polio was defeated in the fifties.but the politicans used the kkk to help as a excuse to go after peoples property rights .but just remember the clan was much stronger in the north than it ever was in the south, and since this swastica stuff came along its nothing anymore.most people with any sense can recognize crap and not associate with them,to bad the commie stooges cant learn that

In the 60's my children were beginning to be indoctrinated in socialism in the schools. They stopped teaching them to read and spell properly, math was a joke. when my children reached high school they had to take corrective courses. Later these corrective courses were no longer offered. Since then everything taught has been anti Christian and pro socialism. No wonder a man like our present president and also men like our congressmen can be elected.

It is not a contest good against bad pissing match. Did you read the first part of the post? It's about comparison of life in America when we had more freedom and less oppression by big government and big business which are now one in the same. There has always be illness and disease and bad people the subject is life in a more free less oppressive environment. I don't want to go there in this string but the subject of polio and the treatment was controversial then and still is. Like our prescription drug youth population is ideal. I would like to get back on topic of things from life that may be representative of a freer society.

About the KKK, the hero of the progressives Woodrow Wilson openly embraced the KKK. In fact the first movie ever shown in the Whitehouse was produced by the KKK at a Party for them. He also segregated the army. Damn it I am off topic!

Why not, it was a heck of a lot better then it is now. We didn't have to worry about the dollar collapsing like we do now. We didn't have to worry about a President that was ruling by decree rather then a semblance or lawful order and respect. JFK had a lot of faults, but he also had a lot of good ideas. Unfortunately he was shot for his ideas and we started down this road thanks in a large part to Johnson.

We didn't have abortions on demand and killing babies left and right. What is it, almost 58 million now? I'll bet you are just thrilled at that number. They called us baby killers when we came back from VN, but you have proven who the real baby killers are.

We did have problems back then and thanks to the progressives they have continued to this day. You got off to a good start in 1913 and have been escalating things ever since. You have taken religion out of school and almost every part of our lives. I don't care that you don't believe, that is a freedom you have and I would never think of changing that. You do not however have a right to take it away from me and the millions of people that do believe. I really don't care what your thoughts are on religion. I have mine and so do millions of others. We also have thoughts about you and your non beliefs, but we mostly keep that to ourselves. We never force things on you, but you love to force your ideas on us.

We didn't have to worry about gays getting in our face ever time we turned around, but thanks to your gay President, we now have that problem. You force your life style on us and don't care how we feel about it. In fact you don't care about anything except that if it feels good, do it. You don't care if it is legal, just get your courts to change the laws. You don't care if it is moral, just change morality. In fact, you don't care about anything as long as you are happy. The fact that you are bringing the rest of the country down to your level only encourages you to go to farther extremes.

In short, you make me sick. You don't care what you do to this country and that shows in everything you do. The only thing you care about is you. Nothing else matters. Well, I hope you are happy, because you are the ones that are going to suffer the most in the end.

What is keeping idiots like you from living back in the glory days? All people like you do is whine because America is changing and there isn't one GD thing you can do about it...

Idiots like you need to pitch in and by you a piece of property and have your own little utopia compound with a 8' electric fence around it all and watch reruns of Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best, Donna Reed, I love Lucy, Dragnet and anything else that makes you happy. All your houses could have white picket fences and just think of the glorious church you bible thumpers could have. You could pray your little hearts to all the fictional characters and places all day if you like. After a spell you idiots would find something to bitch about since that's all you do here.

I am mostly with Bobg, on this thread..Like most people, I recall the good things in my youth, I was all set to jump on your bandwagon.. But we were not so free as I remember. We had a 9 pm curfew, kid had to off the street when the whistle blew. For all under 18 I think it was..Also, the girls had dress codes, none of them cared for that... more regulations on our lives, if I dig some I they will come to mind.. We were not as "free" as we remember, but I do think we have more restrictions now.. And to be off topic, Polio was a dreaded worry and seems we more than our share in our corner of the world.... This is a good topic, need to remember more of it....

Over 5 years ago I started Vinyl Club. Once a month guys get together and bring some choice piece of music out of there collection. Cigars, martinis, beer and some major bullshit, memories and some of the best music ever made come together for a good time.

I started collage in 73 on the GI bill. Most of my professors were rebelling against a curriculum that was going to be mandatory in the near future or Federal Funds would be stopped. My geology professor spent the entire semester 5 credit hour class explaining what a crock of crap the greenhouse effect was.(the name at the time for global warming, climate change, whatever) and the complete crap of the Big Bang. Based on the garbage he knew we were going to be fed my American history professor spent a lot of time debunking the race baiting revisionist baloney he was supposed to teach. My American Literature Professor spent the vast majority of the semester on Tom Paine because he was going to be dropped altogether. Call it brainwashing, dumbing down or what you want if you are repeatedly led down a path of interlocking idea it becomes part of who you are. No wonder the young and leftist repel discussions of history or logic, the only thing in their is bag is innuendo and bias opinion few facts and flawed logic.
