Yet the unwanted child has a high likelihood of becoming a burden to society that will cost tens (hundreds) of thousands of dollars in welfare.

The morning after pill being readily available (for $10) to any woman who screws up and has unprotected or unwanted sex is actually the best of the best in terms of solutions for even those who feel strongly about pro life. That would cost a tiny fraction of what abortions do.

So does the "wanted" child. It takes a village to raise a child, you know.

And Roe v. Wade has made government healthcare (Medicaid, and any socialized medicine that will be spawned) less expensive. An abortion is less expensive than a delivery.

The SC has ruled on when a fetus is able to sustain itself at 20/24 weeks..

A couple of states have put the allowable time to have an abortion now at 6 weeks, which one is challenging back to the SC for ruling on time as that will be the issue if Roe goes to the states for determination....

After investigating how early in a pregnancy deliveries have been successful, I've found that the earliest sustained deliveries have shown to be after 21 weeks...

Due to Legal concerns, the age a State defines adulthood needs to be considered, and a minor female should not be allowed to have an Abortion performed without written consent of at least one parent or legal guardian...

An adult female, or a minor female with legal written consent, can have an Abortion prior to the 21st week...

I guess it is now up to judges to decide the "facts". Godhood conferred upon the judges.

Like voting on whether anthropogenic climate change is real.

I beg to differ regarding "... It takes a village to raise a child..."

A village or community helps sustain the child's life with ease to food, clothing, doctors, police, and such... The raising of a child falls to the parents and family... This is why the parents are deemed responsible for minors, and not the community...

Consent is needed in some states but not others.. That’s the problem, no uniformity in state by state jurisdiction..

Like here where I live, Co., under 18 parent had to be told within 48 hrs of the procedure but parent does not have to approve it..The teenage and dr. Is all that is needed..

That was sarcasm, Jim. I have said that in Kenya it might take a village to raise a child, but here in America it takes a mother AND it takes a father. The dissolution of the family has made America weak, decadent and matriarchal. Among other factors.

Read my post to JimMe. You're a little behind, lds.

Why would you ever think I am a Liberal?

Here is the real facts: Personhood starts at the union of sperm and egg. The zygote is a person.

I see no problem with a lack of uniformity in individual State Legislation and Jurisdiction... Abortion is a Medical Procedure, and Medical Procedures are Licensed and Regulated by the individual States... Abortion needs to be subject to the individual State's Laws and Judicial Rulings regarding Medical Procedures...

The Supreme Court will not be able to overturn legal precedence in Roe v. Wade. But if Congress and science establish and pass the Life Begins at Conception Act, then the developing fetus would be viewed as a legitimate live person and placed under the protection of the 14th Amendment guaranteeing equal protection under the law of life, liberty and property rights.

That puts three people into the Right to Life debate: man, woman and baby.

It will be overturned based upon the fact that abortion is not in the jurisdiction of the federal gov. That is why it is unconstitutional. It has nothing to do with being right or wrong, good or evil, sin or not sin.

I agree with you.. Then again I’m a states person over federal mandate..

This hype in the Dems saying the republicans will repeal Roe is nothing more than fear mongering.. It will not be stricken from the SC ruling... Modified yes, that’s already going on in different states like the two that just changed theirs to 6 weeks ..States will have jurisdiction over it, not like they haven’t always had it..

I doubt they will over turn it nwtk~~Too much has transpired to overturn it.. They SC justices just won’t hear anymore of them sending them back to the states to decide.. If those states say no abortions allowed is when the SC will here it and will reiterate the Roe position...

They do not typically rule against themselves on cases they have made a finding of law... They will modify but they don’t throw out their own decisions.. If they did they would have no true position of being the highest court of the land...

What if the minor woman was impregnated by her abusive father with the knowledge of her mother?

Ranger, you missed the entire point. It will not be you, nor the Supreme Court, but Congress and science that determines when "life begins," before or after birth.

So, boys and girls, consider keeping your pants zipped up unless you are prepared to start a family and pay for it on your own accord.
