Secondly, states typically do have gun security laws however, those laws would not have had any baring on this unfortunate situation..

An accident during the handling of the gun by the mother, is not the same scenerio as children finding a weapon and it accidentially going off..

For the record I do believe guns should be properly secured under lock or at least the safety lock on when other people are in your home..

Were you not required to have a safety training course or show familiarity with a gun? I am licensed in 3 states and I had to take a safety course in each just to show I could handle a weapon??

Three straight involved were not reciprocating states which is why I had to take the exam over again...

Go take yourself a few courses you will absolutely love it... I learned so much from them... And even having to take them twice after my original licensing I still learned something more from the Jim..Also the people you meet are so helpful and friendly You may likely go back to that same course developing a nice friendship with others interested in the same.....

You will get that calling when your ready, not to worry!!!

Always check the laws of any state you go into on carrying your weapon..They may have slightly different rules you should know...
