I agree with you up to the point of having a gun under your pillow loaded and cocked. It could go off into the head of your significant other or it could go off and blow you away. Suggest that a bedside table would be safer for you and still in easy reach.

Hey dude, your my kind of guy, I check my booby traps regularly, like every evening, even though I do live in a beautifully scenic neighborhood, but this is exactly the type of neighborhood the criminals would profile, before I come in to take my boots off, then I take my shotgun out of the closet, put it by the side of my bed, put my pistol that's been on my end table into my boot(wouldn't want to get shot by my own pistol if someone did make it through to my bedroom, very, very unlikely) and then its a Xanax or two and to watch some TV and just relax!
