Educational Objectives
These ideas were a result of several encounters with professors and other highly educated individuals on the subject of what makes a well-rounded education. One advisor said he preferred that students majored in science first, before other possibilities, because the reverse later on is much harder (of course, he was a professor of Physics!)

I didn't hear anything about ending the teacher's union that allows worthless teachers from being fired. Nor did I hear anything on teaching lies on the Constitution starting in grammar school by the teachers and the text books used in schools written by UN supporting fluffer boys from San Francisco.

Well I assume he was looking for practical solutions and not chasing conservative mythology. You should check out Oklahoma where conservative ideas are implemented. There teachers have no unions, no pay raises, most work second jobs, and Texas has a recruiting office set up in OK City where they are hiring away the best teachers that haven't already quit. Hell, if you are a teachers aid and want insurance you will have to work a second job just to pay for it! How's that for conservative educational ideas in practice...

Interesting proposals. Conservatives are so anti education though how so you think you could ever get them to positively participate and not destroy everything you want?

" UN supporting fluffer boys from San Francisco "
PeterS, please, do not put one offensive label on a group of many millions of people you cannot possibly know. Many, many of conservatives have advanced degrees and are life-long learners.

I believe the facts are that conservatives are far more concerned with PROPER education than are Libs/Progressives. I noticed someone saying that teachers are confounding the Constitution, which is a great shame if true. Our kids need to understand the Constitution in its entirely and with well-verified background information, such as from The Federalist Papers. In my opinion, Conservatives are dead set against the avoidance of good education as is expounded by John Dewey, et al. Secular Humanism decries the teaching of realist civics and government to students.

You're wasting your time. Honest discourse is not his objective. He'd much rather throw ad hominems and non sequiturs around just to spoil an otherwise civilized interaction. Ignore him, that's what I do, most of the time, until I just can't stand it anymore. That's when he declares victory and crows his superiority to the masses. All he's looking for is to get a rise out of you.

your very wrong. we are not about propagating one side or the other . a well balanced education is very important with views from both sides . not a education pushing a democratic / socialist point of view that is inmost schools today.

That's curious. And they still have teachers? Well, I never! How do they get them to stick around, blackmail? Surely if it's as bad as you say, they would all be working in nice, cushy unionized jobs in places like California or New York. Of course, working in one of those schools would probably qualify them for combat pay - the risks are about the same...

That is why I mentioned vocational training leading to decent jobs. Also why I mentioned Home Study, which anyone can use to their benefit. I said nothing about everyone becoming brainiaks, that is not on. But I do believe in striving for a better understanding of the world around us by hook or crook.
