Be careful my fellow Americans. In the early 2001, my office received anonymous email from South Africa. I wonder how they got my email address since my office has the security of the State Government.
Here's what the email said.
That he was a banker. That someone with two million dollars deposited in the bank suddenly died of accident. He had no beneficiary or family to claim his estate.
Then this guy asked me to send my bank account number so that he could share the fortune of the deceased and deposit to my bank account.

What I did was to forward the email to the Federal Agency to trace the source.

Never answer any message like that. They will clean your own bank account.
Message to all, please don't be victims.

Indeed ... selling email addresses is big business for scammers and everyone else for that matter.

If you own an cell phone your info has been sold. Ever notice how which ever doctor you go to, the info is there. I ordered a product today that was advertised on tv. I've never dealt with them before. I gave my phone number and they were able to give me my address, date of birth and last four of SS. That is fing scary. There is no privacy at all today. If you go to the Doctor, own a credit card etc., your info is out there. Mike

Unfortunately, all I have left is the computer. All the peripherals, floppy drives, printer, etc. have been lost somehow. Personally, I think they were stolen but have no verifiable proof.

I have floppys but no computer nor printer. I started out with Atari and had to print programs for my Daughter which never really worked. My first experience with a computer was working for the RR. The machines were huge, took up a whole 12x12 room, it was all key punch with headers, really simple. The FAX was dial-up and put the phone on a machine. That was my last experience until the Atari and have graduated from there, though I've not graduated very far. Far enough to commute with y'all, meet some really great people and pay bills, that's enough. Mike

sometimes things just go missing, that's life.ive suspected same only to realize somewhere in my travels
stuff just plain disappears. think on that ,I do all the time.
