I know this was not directed to me for a response, but I think that the handwriting was on the wall; what goes up,
must eventually come down. I sold most of my short goal stocks last week, knowing that the interest rate projected increase would soon hit Wall Street and it seems that I made a wise move. The market is not for the faint of heart, it has to be studied and timed. When a buy off starts, it gains momentum and if you have not done your homework, millions can be lost in a blink of an eye.

Your question about our President having something to do with the sell off is interesting. I think the Numes memo and the uncertainty of what will become of our enforcement agencies had something to do with making younger people more nervous. If you are a history buff, you will see that this is a repeat of 1974, the market turned into a Bear Market and remained so for almost a year. Will President Trump take the credit for the decline, probably not in public as any admission of failure could affect the next elections and bring Democrats out with pitch forks.

Please give some credit to Americans. I do not think you intended to say if "heard something that made him guilty." I would say if he says something that makes him appear guilty or confesses to some devilish plan to work, quid pro quo ...., his supporters will shift to that of the Vice President. We, Americans, are not fickle, we will stand behind our elected officials until all facts are brought out into the light. Then we will form an opinion and act based on that opinion. Conservatives are just like you, we all have a common goal, and that goal focus on what is perceived to be the best for our nation. We differ, but neither side is completely run by idiots and recruits of satan.

Glad you are clear of your stocks.. This is likely short term bump, but then you can buy it all back if you wish.

The down turn was pretty well predicted. my only point, nasty as it was maybe, is that trump has been crowing that the continued rise of the market was all his doing..

So I wondered what people expect him to say about a down turn. the article, and I, say this is very normal and the future should be good..

think I posted the article on a different thread..

I believe that I addressed the "what will President Trump do" question. He will avoid questions on Wall Street (if he has a smart advisor, and I do wonder if he does at times). Attention to the market will tie him and all Republicans to the whim of buying and sell offs; that would be very bad for upcoming elections. It would be best for him to redirect focus, perhaps to the Russian plane being shot down over the weekend or even the drought being experienced in the West and any thoughts from him on preparation for the up coming fire season. Even his desire to rebuild our infrastructure, something that is bipartisan. I also think that he needs to back off the issues with the FBI, the pot is stirred and Americans want the facts exposed. If exposing problems with the CIA/FBI or any of the other alphabet security forces we have was the goal then job accomplished, now he needs to sit back and watch what flows out.

Are you actually following this process? If 46 is subpoenaed, he will NOT be allowed to have his lawyers in the room with him. He WILL be able to ask for assistance from them BUT NOT in the procedure room.

A interesting opinion from Quora...

Will Trump fire Robert Mueller?

We are now in the final countdown.

Trump's lawyers indicated last week that they expected to have some deal worked out with Mueller for an interview format.

The reason they have been dragging their feet was because Trump wanted to push it off until after his SOTU so he could take a victory lap and after the budget DACA negotiations so he can sign a bill that includes the wall, more military spending and infrastructure and claim he has now accomplished everything he promised in his campaign.

As I have pointed out before the SOTU was his resignation address and it was just a rehash of the same promises he failed to keep in 2017 and had no vision for the future because Trump knows he has no future in office.

Trump’s empire is crumbling.

Trump and his kids businesses are losing money by all reports and his funding sources from Russian mafia controlled banks has been shut off and US banks will not loan to him because he is very high risk while under investigation and they could all end up having their assets tied up in court or seized.

Mueller has been patient long enough.

Mueller has been patient in letting Trump come to the conclusion that he no longer has any options but the memo was a really bad move on Trump's part as it shows Trump is not listening to his lawyers and is trying to sabotage the investigation by undermining the public credibility of the FBI and DOJ.

Mueller will not be happy about that and he was the head of the FBI and the people Trump is attacking are people he worked with and helped get where they are and Mueller is going to run out pf patience with Trump if he hasn't already. The FBI and DOJ have also reached their breaking point with Trump and are now fully invested in seeing his presidency come to an end sooner than later.

So, this appears to be the week when Trump and his lawyers will have to either accept a voluntary interview with Mueller or they will be subpoenaed to the grand jury.

Keep in mind that subpoena is not just for the client and is also for their attorneys. The lawyers can challenge a subpoena which they have hinted they will do but in a grand jury case the bar is very low for enforcing a subpoena and the lawyers can be held in contempt of court if they do not show up and represent their client if the client refuses. It would be difficult to hold Trump in contempt but not his lawyers.

What if Trump just refuses the subpoena?

If Trump refuses to follow a subpoena and testify to the grand jury his lawyers could face contempt charges and it would certainly show that Trump is obstructing justice by refusing to give evidence and testify which is grounds for impeachment and is why Nixon and Clinton testified under oath.

Trump's lawyers want to avoid impeachment at all costs because once impeachment starts Trump will not be able to use the pardon power and they can not count on the Republicans not impeaching Trump.

That leaves his lawyers only one option to talk Trump in to resigning and pardoning everyone including himself and take a chance they can win a against a pardon challenge and keep any state charges tied up in court for years while Trump and his kids return to their businesses and use his presidential connections to profit themselves.

Trump’s personal life is a key factor in his decision.

Trump's marriage is also on the rocks and I think that will play a big part in his decision to resign as I can not see Trump staying in office with the weight of a divorce or separation playing out in public.

Summary

This is the week and we are in the final countdown and unless something strange happens (always possible) we should see Mueller make his move to subpoena Trump to the grand jury. That will depend on Mueller and whether he is ready to deal with Trump in the event he pardons everyone.

The strange thing that could happen is Trump pardons everyone and refuses to resign or testify and then what happens?

That is something that has never been addressed by any of the top constitutional law experts.

I look forward to your explanation this time next week detailing why none of this came to pass. Do you need a reminder or can you handle it on your own? You should probably start working on it now.

Stock market has a hiccup the day after the Rothechilds start selling off some of their holdings, that have been in the family for over a century, near the Black Forest in Germany. I think Q has nailed it again.

I really enjoyed the food also. I had just turned 18 in Panama a couple of weeks earlier where a peso was $1.00. Got to PI, had missed my ship which made me illegal and subject to jail. The guy I was with father was a WO 4 in Subic Bay. We hi-tailed it from the docks to a hotel. I had $20.00 and paid the cab fare which was 18 pesos. The cabbie started to hand me back a bunch of pesos and I stopped him, taking two pesos back. The guy was all over me thanking me. It was only later that I found out that a peso in PI was $.25. Ended up hiding out in PI for 5 weeks. Man it's fantastic to survive being young and ignorant. Have an even more harrying story about Okinawa. Mike

I still like San Miguel beer but it's hard to find in Denver. I liked Okinawa but it was expensive.
Remember the outside troughs in the middle of the streets to pee in?
