A interesting opinion from Quora...

Will Trump fire Robert Mueller?

We are now in the final countdown.

Trump's lawyers indicated last week that they expected to have some deal worked out with Mueller for an interview format.

The reason they have been d**gging their feet was because Trump wanted to push it off until after his SOTU so he could take a victory lap and after the budget DACA negotiations so he can sign a bill that includes the wall, more military spending and infrastructure and claim he has now accomplished everything he promised in his campaign.

As I have pointed out before the SOTU was his resignation address and it was just a rehash of the same promises he failed to keep in 2017 and had no vision for the future because Trump knows he has no future in office.

Trump’s empire is crumbling.

Trump and his kids businesses are losing money by all reports and his funding sources from Russian mafia controlled banks has been shut off and US banks will not loan to him because he is very high risk while under investigation and they could all end up having their assets tied up in court or seized.

Mueller has been patient long enough.

Mueller has been patient in letting Trump come to the conclusion that he no longer has any options but the memo was a really bad move on Trump's part as it shows Trump is not listening to his lawyers and is trying to sabotage the investigation by undermining the public credibility of the FBI and DOJ.

Mueller will not be happy about that and he was the head of the FBI and the people Trump is attacking are people he worked with and helped get where they are and Mueller is going to run out pf patience with Trump if he hasn't already. The FBI and DOJ have also reached their breaking point with Trump and are now fully invested in seeing his presidency come to an end sooner than later.

So, this appears to be the week when Trump and his lawyers will have to either accept a voluntary interview with Mueller or they will be subpoenaed to the grand jury.

Keep in mind that subpoena is not just for the client and is also for their attorneys. The lawyers can challenge a subpoena which they have hinted they will do but in a grand jury case the bar is very low for enforcing a subpoena and the lawyers can be held in contempt of court if they do not show up and represent their client if the client refuses. It would be difficult to hold Trump in contempt but not his lawyers.

What if Trump just refuses the subpoena?

If Trump refuses to follow a subpoena and testify to the grand jury his lawyers could face contempt charges and it would certainly show that Trump is obstructing justice by refusing to give evidence and testify which is grounds for impeachment and is why Nixon and Clinton testified under oath.

Trump's lawyers want to avoid impeachment at all costs because once impeachment starts Trump will not be able to use the pardon power and they can not count on the Republicans not impeaching Trump.

That leaves his lawyers only one option to talk Trump in to resigning and pardoning everyone including himself and take a chance they can win a against a pardon challenge and keep any state charges tied up in court for years while Trump and his kids return to their businesses and use his p**********l connections to profit themselves.

Trump’s personal life is a key factor in his decision.

Trump's marriage is also on the rocks and I think that will play a big part in his decision to resign as I can not see Trump staying in office with the weight of a divorce or separation playing out in public.

Summary

This is the week and we are in the final countdown and unless something strange happens (always possible) we should see Mueller make his move to subpoena Trump to the grand jury. That will depend on Mueller and whether he is ready to deal with Trump in the event he pardons everyone.

The strange thing that could happen is Trump pardons everyone and refuses to resign or testify and then what happens?

That is something that has never been addressed by any of the top constitutional law experts.

Two thoughts, first President Trump will not fire Mueller or Rosenstein, firing either will only make matters worse.

Second, President Trump would be very foolish if he submitted to questioning by Mueller.... unless he records the whole event with his lawyer present.

I am very much opposed to our President facing inquisition where the outcome has been predetermined. No matter how innocent a response may be, it will be twisted and turned around by small minded people.

the stock market is the first thing to crumble and it is wiped out a year's gains go trump job numbers also disappointing.
We also need to borrow a trillion dollars because he gave it to his friends.
This means we have another Republican president that is going to put this country in a depression! whats new.

You are right,Pennylynn, but if he refuses these small minded people will take it as admission of guilt!!..I think he needs to take this interview with his lawyer by his side and maybe televised so these small minded people cant wrongly accuse him of anything!!!
