The cardinal is correct. God is specific about homosexuality. The pope is a false teacher. God is specific in His warnings about false teachers and false doctrine.

The American Cardinal of the Catholic church, Raymond Leo Burke, had a few words to say about Pope Francis’ stance concerning the way homosexuals are treated.

Some will be thrilled — many will be furious.

Not only did he disagree with Pope Francis, he publicly made a statement to contradict him — an act of huge importance within the Catholic church when it comes to the pope.

In a December interview with O Clarim, Burke discussed the pope’s comments on apologizing to homosexuals.
www.oclarim.com.mo/en/2017/12/21/exclusive-interview-with-cardinal-raymond-burke-2-faith-and-tradition/

“In an in-flight interview, after the umpteenth question about homosexuals, the Holy Father (Pope Francis) said that we obviously must not discriminate and we have to ask forgiveness from these people for the way they are treated…,” the interview question began.

“I haven’t read the Pope’s text,” Burke responded.

“What I can say is that this year I turned 69, and I have spent my whole life in the Catholic Church.

I have never encountered discrimination against people who suffer from the homosexual condition.”

Whoa.

He then went from one jaw-dropping statement right into another.

“We know that we are dealing with an abnormal condition:

God has not created us to have sexual relations with people of the same sex,” Burke said.

“This is not a discrimination against persons.

It is to affirm the truth of Christ, the truth of our faith.”

What he is saying is that Catholics are obligated to follow their own doctrine — which, of course they are.

Even aside from the biblical arguments to be made for or against homosexuality, the Catholic stance is made crystal clear in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex.

It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained.

Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."

They are contrary to the natural law.

They close the sexual act to the gift of life.

They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity.

Under no circumstances can they be approved.

The Catholic stance really isn’t up for debate.

“I must say sincerely, even though I haven’t read the words of the Pope, that I don’t see why the Church ought to ask forgiveness for teaching the truth about sex and sexuality,” Burke said.

“Rather, during my priesthood of more than 42 years, I have always found priests very compassionate in meetings with people who have had this difficulty and have suffered from this condition,” he concluded.

I doubt that this will see much attention from the media — it speaks a little too pointedly at a pontiff who has been doing leftists favors for years with his rhetoric.

It’s amazing to see a cardinal stand for consistency of his own religion over political correctness.

Who do you think God is talking about when he describes " the great whore of Babylon " and tells his children to come out of her before it's too late!

Cardinal Burke is the ecclesiastical compadre of rabid anti-gay rights goons such as Focus On the Family; Burke was removed from office in the Vatican by Pope Francis for his radical, hateful views on gay people, and very correctly so.

If you want a false teacher, look no farther than Burke.

Duh! Not too bright after all this time, I find. Of course I'm gay, and have been for 72 years. Also pretty much up on what goes on in the Vatican.

Burke was one step away from being defrocked. He's currently a hero to those backward priests and laity who pretend it's 1918.

samtheyank,

I have only have a few distinctions and retort to your Christian flawed, opinion and religious statements. These are just personal anti-Catholic attacks on the Christian Catholic Church. You need to understand the Early Church Fathers to understand their writing who document and the Origins of the Catholic Church.

If you don't heed this advice, you are truly ignorant of Christ's Church, The Apostles and Early Church Fathers. Religious ignorance is bliss.

You will learn something about the Jesus Christ's One True Catholic Church and (ECF) Early Church Fathers at this URL link.

Listen to this mp3 audio and video file, then do some real research on the (ECF) and It's gift to all.

1.No, the Pope is not the Church.
No, here is distinction
Jesus did found his Original Catholic Church, with the Apostles who founded the church. Jesus gave Peter (The Rock) authority and is who was the first Pope. And the Apostles successors of the Clement of Rome, baptized by Saint Peter, Ignatius of Rome, and Ignatius of Antilock, Justin Martyr was a lay person, St. Athanasius wrote the books "Against Heresy," and disciple of Poly Carp, who was disciple of John the Apostles. And St. Augustine of Hippo; Aurelius Augustine; "The Doctor of Grace"

Here is the most personal effects the Early Church Fathers, to share the past to Catholics and the Protestant's profound love, trust and steeped profaned doctrine facts of the Bible, stories backward and forward.

The Greek word "Sent" means Apostles.

The keys of Church were given to him Peter, by Jesus Christ.

Christ gave authority, From Peter the key's and Papal succession till Pope Francis.

As the king's of Israel, the Chief Steward's held the keys of the kingdom.

Hence forth, Jesus's steward e.g. From Peter to Pope Francis, is the current Church steward, founded by Jesus Christ.

2.The Church is The Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus founded his Church through his teaching and explanation of Holy Scripture and after his death the Holy Spirit has guided his Catholic Church and to this present day.
But before the Bible was codified in 402 A.D The Holy Spirit Guided his Catholic Church and the Pope and Bishops.

3.The Holy Scriptures are Jesus Christ.
The Trinity, The Father, The Son, And the Holy Spirit are scripture and Inspired men to write the books of the bible, Oral traditions and Written books now have been finalized. The Alpha and the Omega. (Beginning and the End.)

4.It is plainly stated in the first three verses in the Gospel of John.
What three verse's by John, are you talking about ? Please explain ?

5.The Holy Scriptures, Christ, plainly state that homosexuality is a sin.
Yes I Agree with you.

6.God does not tolerate sin.
Yes I Agree with you.

7.This very fact has been stated in both the Old and New Testament.
Yes I Agree with you.

8.Men, who are sinful, ignore this fact because it does not fit into their agenda or view of things.
Yes I Agree with you.

9.This also applies to the Pope. He is guilty of heresy and is an ignorant asshole.
The pope in his context of his statement said.

10.He has a little authority and he uses that authority to shape things according to his view of things.
The Pope has great authority. Just look at Pope John Paul II, and the Vatican II by Saint John 23. Your very wrong about the Popes.

11.He will have to stand before Christ and give an account of that.
We all will stand before Jesus Christ including Pope's. How about the Catholic 5 D's Devotions.

12.A Pope can just as easily be sent to hell as any sinner who has denied Christ.
Yes he can, but your being judgmental. Let God Judge.

13.He is as much of a human being as any other person God has created during the existence of the human race.
Yes I Agree with you.

14.This is a fact and without exception.
Yes I Agree with you.
