Let's see: was it Muslims that came over the pond to start a new country? was it the Hindu's? how about the 'progressives'? could it have been the satanists? or the wiccas? Gosh no ! So, if a muslim is offended by Christmas, too bad. A democracy is a country where the vote of a majority of it's citizens makes the laws and sets the standards. What do you call a country where the minorities rule the majority? So gripe all you want but don't try to stop me from excercising my right to observe my customs.

Bravo! Well said and with conviction! We have the slaves to thank for the spread of islam in the USA, although some historians disagree, the earliest muslims were not scholars or even educated. But, that is for a different thread.

I am glad to have been of any small service and I regret my denseness in doggedly recasting my initial doubts into ever more optimistic and helpful attitude, causing you to have to endure the unpleasant prospect of my company a second longer than you were so inclined.
I'm sorry you and others misunderstood my more and more energetic attempts to jar you into comprehension of that information you said you wanted. I realize I should have followed my initial instinct that it would be personally and socially unpleasant and avoided the attempt but I believed it would be intellectually rewarding for us to come to an understanding, and hoped it might establish amity and the ability to coexist in a more amiable manner. I say that this country needs to return to its original operating of majority rule. Two or three people on this site should not have the power to censor all the others who use this site. If they CHOOSE to get offended, they can simply not use the site anymore. Often, when on Facebook, I read comments that I dislike because of their irrationality, their unfairness to the poster, or their name calling. But it is not my job nor responsibility to judge these people and I, unlike the leftists, truly believe each person is entitled to his/her opinion. What no person is entitled to is forcing his/her opinion on others. Today, in our weak, foolish, entitled society, saying you are offended is a power trip to force others to do as you want. I refuse to be part of that crap, so when a comment on FB contains language or views that I don't really like, I can, and do, just move on. It Isn't my job to correct their ignorance. It is my job to be wary of my own.
