Thank Archie,

I think everyone has their standards, our standards are just different than Steve's. If we were true germaphobic, we would not just dust the cans or wipe the milk cartons, we would be "sanitizing" them. Anyone that has allergies or has a child with allergies know that one problem is dust so we do our best to make life comfortable. Anyway there is a far cry from keeping one's home neat to being obsessed with cleaning. If I leave a dish in my sink overnight, I do not lose sleep but I would not leave a sink full of dishes for the next day. It that is OCD, then I guess I am a germaphobic with OCD. :smo2:

Clean away Penny! Nothing wrong with living in a clean house! I remember thinking that my Granny was weird for rinsing off her milk cartons before putting them in the fridge. I do the same thing now. Canned goods are wiped with a damp paper towel before being put in the pantry too.
Just add germaphobe to my long list of phobes, I guess.
Now that I think about it, I need to wash the floor mat from the back of the car because my granddaughter chucked her sippy cup, and spilled apple juice on them Friday.
When you find a professional to help you, could you ask if he might know someone in my area?

Let us be clear, I am not offended by your "general knowledge" or with your willingness to share that knowledge. In fact, it is appreciated.
What is offensive is your labeling me compulsive when you truly do not have enough knowledge about me to apply that label. As for feelings, I agree with Archie, without feelings we may as well be robots programmed to just function. But, humans, or the vast majority, are social animals and part of our personal joy comes from our pleasant interactions with others. If we live a life unconcerned with the feelings of others, we find ourselves keeping our own company. I am not saying that you are wrong and ignoring feelings is somehow destructive or counterproductive, it may work fine for you and you may be a very satisfied and happy individual. I have known people with avoidant attachment pattern, in fact some of the children who lived with us throughout the years were afflicted in this way. They wanted so much to be part of, to be recognized, but was not sure or unable to express themselves in a way that made others appreciate their company. If you look back on this thread, you became angry and complained, not unlike an individual with avoidant attachment issues. You may not recall, but over a year ago you and I engaged in a discussion, to put it mildly, you came across as a know it all, judgmental, and insulting. Having had that experience, I was reluctant to encourage you to find other issues with me personally. As you managed to do anyway.

Now back to the subject of this thread.... boogers. They are not simple to remove. Here is a challenge for you, invite a 5 year old over to your house and ask him/her to load up a wall with their wet buggers; better if they have a respiratory infection as the young child who stayed with me. Allow said buggers to dry for a month. Now go back and see just how difficult they can be to remove. Buggers contain mucin which is a polysaccharide. Much like mixing corn starch and water (a synthetic booger), used for many years to patch nail holes in walls before it became common to buy gypsum patch. Think about it, if a synthetic booger can patch a small hole in your wall and still hold years later... Anyway, do this experiment and come back and tell us how simple the removal was for you.

And for your last question.... chicken wings are white meat. Anyone that has ever cooked chicken knows this....less fat content.

I do hope that you will continue to add your insights, because you do have a wealth of knowledge, on any thread I create. I am sure that I can adjust my reactions to your comments and we can share non-personal interactions.

Sorry if you find it offensive that I know the difference between a clean house and being obsessive. Judgment carries heavy connotations of negative condemnation. I preferred to you myself as being discerning. In fact, I discern what I'm going to have for breakfast Not just a person's attributes or deficiencies, don't you? To me feelings have kind of a negative connotation because it reminds me of the liberals residing in opposite land who have low ability to reason, use logic or common sense but just go by their F E E L I N G S.

As far as I can see, I seem to have a lot more general knowledge than just about anyone I ever run into. The responses on these pages are a good example. It blows my mind of all the lame brain responses about how to remove boogers. Isn't it just plain old common sense that you just simply put the moisture back into them to easily remove them. Most people don't even know that most of the time when they're eating meat without the skin, it is muscle that they are eating and most people will give the wrong answer when you ask them "Are chicken wings, white meat are dark meat?" What's your answer Archie?

Thank you... the child was a guest in my home, not a member of the family. That visitation has ended and he is home with his mother.

Ugh. Thought was your child. Sorry that happened to your home. I'm guessing there's no way to invite the mother over for a booger cleaning event........

No... over the years, my husband and I raided over 30 children... adopted some and fostered others. This is the first booger kid!
No, neither the child or mother will be invited back to stay the night. The boogers are now off the wall and I will schedule painters on Monday.
All is good. Life is filled with learning opportunities!

I've heard your diatribe on chicken wings before, and I really don't care. I just know they taste good with the extra spicy sauce.
