Since Trump is taking credit for Sprint and Ford creating jobs shouldn't he also be taking credit for Macy's cutting 10,000 jobs? Or is this like god and anything good he is responsible for and anything bad is the liberals fault?

Hey you figured it out. We are using the Barak Obama guide to political blame. Everything that went right was because of the wonderfulness of President Obama. Anything that went wrong was left over from President George W. Bush. We can play your game even gooder than you.! !

Aren't you taking a chance to be blacklisted or boycotted??? Sick puppies, you radical Marx/Alinskyites, and I absolutely LOVE the "PIG" picture at the WH. Did you paint it??? GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP!!! "MAKE AMERICA {AND ISRAEL} GREAT AND SAFE AGAIN!!!" "DRAIN THAT {RADICAL SECULAR LIBERAL "REGRESSIVE"} SWAMP!!!"

Sure why not.... and while you are at it, blame him for:

Jazz Pharmaceuticals / Azur Pharma
D.E. Master Blenders
Stratasys
Eaton/Cooper
Endo Health Solutions
Liberty Global PLC
Actavis / Warner Chilcott
Perrigo/Elan
Cadence Pharmaceuticals
Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals
Chiquita Brands
Medtronic
Jazz Pharmaceuticals / Azur Pharma
D.E. Master Blenders
Stratasys
Eaton/Cooper
Endo Health Solutions
Liberty Global PLC
Actavis / Warner Chilcott
Perrigo/Elan
Cadence Pharmaceuticals
Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals
Chiquita Brands
Medtronic

All of these companies have left in the last 8 years.... and how many have moved to the USA in the same time-frame? Funny when I googled this... the search only came up with job loss. Perhaps you can list those who have returned to our shores in the past 8 years.

Maybe it was because Macy's discontinued the Trump Line! Duh!

It could also have something to do with Macy's high prices for goods made in China. It might also be partially because it is older women who have the money to shop in Macy's, only to find that the styles they offer only look good on 18-21 year olds. I know that because I have been in Macy's and looked at what they have while listening to women in their 40's and 50's all complaining how ridiculous they would look in the outfits.

(SWMBO) She Who Must Be Obeyed NPP would never be caught dead in a Macy's, much preferring sporting goods stores so I responded to this one.

SWMBO,

Can you say "Amazon"? Can you say "on line shopping"? Brick and Morter stores have seen the problem coming for about 5 years, this shopping season was the end for a number of these stores not only Macy..

Most are trying to establish and on line store to join rather then fight the trend..

Since Macy over the years has closed several of their stores or the land on which were Macy's and leased the stores back, this all took place mostly during those wonderful (NOT) 8 years. Too many purchase online, but think this, even now Amazon is going to have a brick and mortar store because #1 a lot of us like to actually see, feel and try on clothing or purchase great dishes, pots, pans, linens, etc. because online stuff sometimes is really crap! And many of us like to peruse a store and goods, and many do not even have computers or understand how to purchase stuff online and when unhappy have to pay to return the stuff. Many of the large stores did not think in terms of real business, stock, money, and actual purchasers of their goods. Think Kohl's whose inventory on the whole is no better than say K-Mart or Target or even Walmart and almost all made outside America. With a lousy economy for so long, people also don't have money to purchase quality products due to job loss, expensive water usage, electricity, gas, gasoline, oil, which before and to a degree still are the ordinary stuff we need so be get ripped off at high prices. Many businesses of value have left the country dues to being forced to pay high taxes and hence have to charge high prices for whatever they make or sell. Now we have an opportunity to change things back to a more "normal" scenarios with Trump and ignore the democrats/liberals/leftists who have brought and nearly gave us global communism and a less bountiful and great way to live and breathe. Of course, they will blame anyone but themselves and they are disturbed so many of us knew this or are now awakened. So all I want to say is CIAO, baby! because it is our America back!

I've thought about this trend lately, and still don't know why SEARS has degraded so much. SEARS was the first store to sell by catalog on items that were not carried in store and had to be ordered. You might say SEARS was the first to start purchasing items through a sales catalog. I can't understand why they didn't build on the on-line catalog sale much sooner. Other then greedy management and poor decisions, SEARS would still be the store to shop at. The reason their prices skyrocketed, and their going under, they didn't keep up with technology and paid dearly for it.

Rose,

this year holiday spending was far improved and the on line spending increased 17%... That is huge.. Amazon is indeed setting up a few brick and morter stores.. I would say the wish of nearly every store would be to have both sales outlets.. Amazon is a huge stelp ahead with it existing marketing..

Not many computers??? Where the heck do you live? Returns of on line purchase are easy as pie, the even produce a label and pickup the return.. very easy..

The Craftsman brand have been popular for their endurance and the guarantied return/exchange policy for years. For Black & Decker to start selling cheap tools under the brand without the guaranties would just be throwing their money into the wind. Nobody would buy their product and just go to Harbor-Freight.

Macy's have only themselves to blame they bad mouthed Trump and would not carry his brand. Trump said boycott and Macy's has to downsize. If you poke the tiger in the ass Petersucker you need a plan to deal with his teeth.

Yes, I can say Amazon, and I do use the internet for lots of things. however, I really prefer trying on clothing before buying it, and since I am in my mid 70's the fashions for twenty year olds are not my style. what I love to do is go into expensive stores to watch the people shop, even when I have no need for things You can tell a lot about a person by how they shop, particularly how they treat the sales people who are helping them, fun to do once in a while
