Over 2 Million Hillary Supporters Sign Petition to Overturn Election Results

During the third presidential debate back on October 19, then GOP candidate Donald Trump refused to say that he would honor the results of the Nov. 8 election if he were to be unsuccessful in gaining 270 electoral votes. “I will look at it at the time…. I’ll keep you in suspense,” Trump told moderator Chris Wallace. His rival at the time, Hillary Clinton, called the now president-elect’s response “horrifying,” and throughout the accusation of “talking down our democracy.”

Clinton would run as long as she could with accusing Trump of undermining the democratic process by refusing to accepted the election results, making it a solid part of her attack platform from the third debate forward. During rallies, her supporters would boo Trump whenever Clinton mentioned the fact he refused to say he’d accepted.

Well, now it turns out that Clinton’s supporters are the ones who are refusing to accept the election results as they were announced in the early morning of Nov. 9.

A Change.org petition started by a man in North Carolina to persuade the Electoral College to elect Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump has 2,170,188 signatures since its creation on Wednesday night.

The petition reads:

On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine — which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!

We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton. Why?

Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.

Secretary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE and should be President.

Hillary won the popular vote. The only reason Trump “won” is because of the Electoral College.

But the Electoral College can actually give the White House to either candidate. So why not use this most undemocratic of our institutions to ensure a democratic result?

SHE WON THE POPULAR VOTE.

There is no reason Trump should be President.

“It’s the ‘People’s Will’”

No. She won the popular vote.

“Our system of government under our Constitution says he wins”

No. Our Constitution says the Electors choose.

“Too many states prohibit ‘Faithless Electors’”

24 states bind electors. If electors vote against their party, they usually pay a fine. And people get mad. But they can vote however they want and there is no legal means to stop them in most states.

This is a very desperate attempt by Hillary supporters to get their candidate elected. Clinton only won the popular vote by 301,002 or 0.25% of the total vote for each major party candidate. It seems unlikely the Electoral College will go for such a proposal.

If you compare the petition’s goal of 3 million signatures, which it will likely reach, to the total amount of people who voted for Trump or Clinton, it only amounts to 2.5% of the vote.

There is no doubt that some who have signed the petition were the first ones out on the street after the election to say that Trump was no their president.

Mr. Trump threatens not to accept the results of the election and the right barely said a word, he complained about a rigged election (no apology for that after the results prove him wrong) and the right jumps right in behind him, and now all of the sudden those who learned from him are whiny.

Who needs consistency in politics anyway, right?

I can only (barley) recall the last election of FDR, he shouldn't have run for that term, he pushed the Progressive - Socialist views to there limits... Truman For all his 'festiveness' was a Socialist at heart and in my opinion lost half of Korea to the Commies... JFK stolid the 1960 election from Nixon, my point in all of this is the Democrats have always, from the time of the Civil War has been a corrupt Party...
