Well, I own stocks in a few oil companys and I do not see much big incomes from them. I see lots more from coffee companys, maybe we should band or tax them into a the dark. You should explore the regulation on drill a hole in the ground to find some oil. It's easy to shoot ones mouth off about something one knows nothing about.

Without regulation the oil industry would knock you down and drill your butt if they thought there was a profit , the permit process is just about collecting fees and political favors... They over complicate things to keep the small wild caters out.. the pollution laws are a bad joke as are the fines... Check out what Cheney did to the clean water act... Pumping benzene into ground water is no joke. Check out what Benzene is all about!!! Energy at the cost of fresh water is a bad trade as is deep ocean drilling without proper equipment... We saw that result... The oil industry is the apex of corruption but they have excellent TV commercials to show just how good they have become.. We have no real energy policy looking forward, we are dealing with this problem very short term, Now with citizens united, I wonder how much money went to Washington through the back door. That came out of profits that the share holders did not see.

IF gas stations are such a money maker then why are the oil companies selling off stations?

And yet the poor, oppressed oil companies, who own almost all the actual gas stations in this country, seem to be doing quite well. Their stocks are selling well. They have the power to raise or lower the prices for their products, and they manage to do this almost from day to day in order to make excellent profits. I don't think your picture of the difficult situation you claim opil companies find themselves in is accurate.

Yes, I see you have a very narrow point of view on a subject that is way beyond your scope. May I suggest that you never buy any more gas, or take any more medicine, have the wire to your house removed, only wear skins that you catch with your hands. That way you are screwing the oil companys.

Most gas stations are like malls now the real money is the junk sold over the counter, the retail fuel mark up is a few pennies in competitive areas , the real profit is selling bulk fuel wholesale , a lot less head aches and work

The seller runs into the same road blocks if 20 gallons or 20,000 gallons is sold, it has to remain competitive, same profit!

Only two more years to go. Hopefully, from all the trouble he has caused America, America will start troubling him back! This is no different than the keystone pipeline and the stops and trouble government puts in front of it.

This is what I think. America has larger oil, and natural gas reserves than any other country. Production is higher than ever. All from private land. The Obama administration won't allow us to exploit, and produce on public lands. We own these lands folks, not them!!
Think of the jobs and prosperity exploiting our recources would create! we are not ready for "green" energy. It can help, but you can't flip one switch off without having the other ready to flip on!! Common sense!!

The Saudis are laughing at us, yet worried at the same time because of the potential here.
What do you think?

I think we are around 15th in world oil reserves but Canada has tons, they are 3rd or 4th in the world... other problem is the Canadian oil is more expensive to refine ... but we do have lots of natural gas... lots of new effort going in to old wells.
