And indeed sex toys, like guns, can be used for nefarious purposes.

But unlike sex toys (which were made for pleasure and sometimes abused for violence) guns were made for violence (but sometimes used for lofty purposes like protecting loved ones.)
If you ask anti-gun leftists like turdnest or PeterS, they will tell you that we gun shooters have orgasms every time we pull the trigger. I mean, geez, our rifle range is one huge sticky mud hole from all the ejaculations out there. You have to wear hip boots just to get out to the target stands and pin one up. And, damn, the place smells like a back alley Tijuana whorehouse. I have to stretch a condom over the muzzle of my assault rifle just to keep the mudcum from plugging up the barrel.

What better way to protest a thing designed to hurt than to carry a socially shunned thing whose only purpose is to give pleasure?

If you have a condom over the end of your barrel wouldn't that cause it to clog up. That was always my excuse for not using a condom--always wanted to keep my pipes free and running.

Now, as for the idiocy of your remarks, it is true that a segment of the population associates their manliness to the muzzle of a rifle--in fact, without your guns I am sure you would feel helpless and unable to protect yourself or your family--and of course, if ever the EBIL government came knocking at your door just what could you do then--you certainly couldn't use a butter knife to fend them off could you. (and by you I mean the conservative male collective, and many females too, not necessarily you in particular--unless it does apply) So in a world with rapist Mexicans and blood trusty niggers and a government that is never up to any good a man just can't be a man if he aint got a semi auto between his legs. That't true isn't it Blade--without that semi auto you (the conservative collective) just wouldn't be able to be who and what you are!

Isn't that the reason you fight so hard to prevent any sane laws that limit our access to gun's so often used by lunatics in mass killings as to clearly present a danger to the public. But forget any danger they present--or the clear ease that terrorists in our own country an obtain them and use them against us--it far more important that we allow conservatives to maintain the pretense of manly protector that they adhere to--that only through semi automatic guns do they have the power they need to protect themselves and the world around them...whew...

If you answer:
"Yes", who did you intend to harm? Why?
"No", them you have no idea what you're talking about.

When you're in a hole, stop digging.

Somethings Dave logic prevails, I've never been shot but I seem to know it will hurt. Try another analogy. If you say anything can be a weapon then no need to own a gun correct.

So you think people intend to get cancer and it's a choice? I believe you have some control issues Dave.

Your intent, or anyone else's, is not the question here.
It is the intent of the design of the gun itself, which is to do harm.

Let's say hypothetically that one never actually intends to harm anyone, but only keeps a gun to wave at intruders to scare them off.
It is the understood power of the gun to do harm that gives the waving of said gun any power to scare anyone at all.

And yes I have held a gun. But I fail to see how that is relevant to this discussion in any way.

I certainly hope you never get cancer, but that is a spurious comparison.
But it could of course be construed to support the limitation of guns. You have the policy because you fear you might get cancer. Should we similarly limit guns ownership because we fear we might get shot?

Good points PaulP, another one,how many criminals have been shot from someone protecting them self to how many accidental shootings or in the passions of a domestic quarrel?

When you consider how many guns Americans own, verses the number of people killed by guns, there is no problem. It's a tiny fraction of one percent. Now, how many people are killed in automobile accidents? How many people are killed crossing the street? There are many things that will kill you, before someone with a gun will. Also, have you ever heard of someone being murdered at a gun show? All those guns, and no one gets shot. Explain that. Criminals are the ones using guns to kill people. Why aren't people like you demanding the death penalty for these thugs? You'd rather go after the guns. There's a name for people like that.

I really can't fathom the logic of comparing guns to a car, it's incomprehensible. How may of these mass shootings were from a noncriminal? How many spouses and children are killed by non criminals. You say the number is small, should we comfort the family member's of murdered victims with that sentiment? Compared to other countries not at war we are off the charts in not only deaths, but let's not even go to injured. We are living in a day and age where guns are out dated, we simply have an infatuation with them and the power they yield. We've been using guns for so long It's in our memory gene, our dna. We're addicted to guns.

I wouldn't rather go after guns, I'd do both.

Why do you always come back at me with a load of fallacious bullshit and immature insults? I have heard that liberals have no sense of humor. At least Paul got the gist of it.

Troops in Nam and Iraq and A-stan often slipped condoms over the muzzles of their guns to keep water, mud, sand, bugs and all kinds of shit out of the barrel. Obviously they didn't have to take the condom off the gun to fire it. Try it sometime. A jacketed bullet traveling at over 3000 fps is a bit more effective in penetrating a thin film of latex than is a blob of sticky white liquid squirted by a swollen prostate.

There is nothing pretentious about owning a gun, Pete, just as there is nothing pretentious about having a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, a health insurance policy, or even a lawn mower. But, setting aside my firearms for the moment, you should see my other weapons.

I must say, you certainly can spin a tale right out of the leftist narrative. And, regarding all that crap about manhood, manliness, and being a man, WTF do you know about that? Apparently, not much. It has nothing to do with owning a gun. Growing up would be a start.

Maybe the government should start a 'dildos for guns' program. Turn in your guns for dildos. I'm sure someone in congress, or even Hillary knows someone in the dildo business that they could make rich with taxpayer money. I wouldn't be for open carry though. It would cause problems with dildo envy.

The United States is fairly low on the list of countries rated for gun violence. Honduras is at the top of the list. No one is addicted to guns any more than they are watching pro football.
