I gotta give these UT students an A+ for absurd, creative hilarity.
What better way to protest a thing designed to hurt than to carry a socially shunned thing whose only purpose is to give pleasure?

Only purpose? Are you saying that no person has ever been victimized by a rapist and a sex toy?

I think it was quite a funny and creative way of objecting to other people having freedom. But in the end (so to speak) it is just a stunt.

Stunts have a way of making us look at things differently, so I think they can have great value.
And indeed sex toys, like guns, can be used for nefarious purposes.

But unlike sex toys (which were made for pleasure and sometimes abused for violence) guns were made for violence (but sometimes used for lofty purposes like protecting loved ones.)

Oh AO, pull that stick out of your ass and try something more comfortable. It's likely to improve your outlook considerably!

I could tell them what they can do with those dildo's, but I try to be polite whenever possible. BTW. Have there been any shootings on the campuses that allow students to carry guns? There are several of them. There couldn't have been any, or the left wingnut MSM would be broadcasting it 24/7. SO there you have it. Students are carrying guns on campus, and no blood bath. How about that?

Human nature requires us to have created weapons. Guns were not created for violence. They were created for protection... Against violent people...But they are sometimes used for purposes other than protection.

That shows how little you know. I suspect that only a small % (Scarborough on MSNBC said 3% and that sounds about right) of guns are ever used for violence.

That amount would be even smaller if you except 'Gun Free Zones' from the equation.

Given these facts, I suspect that an honest person like I think you are would agree that guns are not made primarily for violence.

Many guns are made specifically to hunt. Some specifically for target practice.

Like a knife or a dildo, a gun can be used for crime.

I just took a survey Paul (although limited), and arrived at the conclusion that a new gun gives woman (mine) more pleasure than any dildo ever could.
We have been chastised at our gun store because she causes a slip hazard every time we make a purchase. Then I get lucky!

More than not, shooting the loved one.

All I can say is that 100% of fatal shootings involve a gun.
My guess is that the % of dildos involved in sex-related fatalities is significantly lower.

And I'm truly not understanding how you think a piece of equipment that projects a bullet at an average of 1,700 miles an hour was not created with the intent for inflicting some form of violence upon its target, whether that is a shooting range paper, deer or man.

I think you are confusing the clear purpose of what guns were designed to do with the human intent of their users.

Oh my! There are so many innuendos in your post I think I just have to keep my mouth shut.

(and BTW, I didn't mean my post to start a conversation on guns and violence. I just thought the stunt at UT was hilarious)

It was funny, but dumb. And, yeah, I said that!

100% of drownings involve water. That doesn't mean people fill their swimming pools with the intention on drowning people in them.

It was quiet funny.

But it was a demonstration against the one of my freedoms under the Bill of Rights. Surely you expected that the intent of the demonstration might be discussed.
